Actually, the later in their career you go the easier it gets to find bad songs.
Love Me DO and
Please, Please Me, thjeir first two British singles sound terrific, but try listening to
For the Benefit of Mr Kite. Yeccch! And on their last albums they wouldn't even record finished songs, just scraps of half-baked ideas connected into medleys which made little sense musically or otherwise.
Here by the way is an interesting article that sums up things fairly well, and might actually deserve its own thread of exchanged insults here.

Don't forget, Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice, or YMCA by the Village People.
Those send me into orbit.

Have you all heard "The Annoying Music Show" on Chicago NPR?
Sometimes you have to filter out the usual NPR dreck...but most of the music is deliciously annoying.
I'll try to get you a good link...the last audio link I found honored "Workers of the World" day on May 1st, which I don't think would go over well with our crowd...
I'll keep searching...it's really a funny show.

John Denver, is that you?!
He made the mistake like so many pop/rock stars and flew in a small plane except he was the pilot. Augered in. He lived in Asspen.

This thread is unbelievable.
So the guy's a PETA nut and getting a little long in the tooth (unlike most of his contemporaries, who are taking dirt baths).
But to deny the man as a music icon most likely without peer (living, at least) is ridiculous.
It's like saying, "what's the big deal with Babe Ruth and Ted Williams? We've got Paul Konerko!!!" (with all apologies to the Konerko family...I'm sure he's real good).

In the interest of fairness, Listen The Snow is Falling is not a bad song, as long as someone else is performing it.

I think Sting nominated himself as the 20th century Mozart.
LOL!

for all it`s worth by doing it over and over and over and over and over...
To sold out concerts with ticket prices of around $250 for decent seats. Over and over again.

I think Sting nominated himself as the 20th century Mozart. And your favourite 'paper of record' (NYT) declared the Artist Formerly Known as Prince and Now Again Known as Prince as this or last century's Mozart. Roger Kimball referred to this piece of nonsense in one of his essays about the decline of Western culture.

I must concur. I strongly! oppose PETA's position. Furthermore, I believe that their philosophy is unnatural and inhumane. Which does not automatically mean that I believe in treating animals cruelty. I do not.
Unfortunately, it is the attitude of citizens in industrialized nations that the elderly are less valuable, and youth is to be admired.
Which brings me, in a round about way, to Sir. McCartney. All the so-called POP stars of this generation; Brittany, Madonna, Christina, Beyonce, George Michael, Back Street Boys, etc., can't hold a candle to Paul McCartney's achievements and contributions to rock and roll history. He wrote some memorable songs, and was a very good musician.
Are there artists out there whom Paul McCartney can't hold a candle to? Absolutely, but that is not the topic of discussion.

LOL. Although, Mozart was kind of "pop" in his day. It was in Mozart that the Classical era found its greatest composer, right before giving way to Beethoven and the Romantic era.

Okay, I guess I'll thank you for the MP3 of Yoko. ;)
Just kidding--I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier, just got a new job and I didn't see your post before just now.
And after my breakfast is properly digested tomorrow, I will listen to the MP3. ;)
Many thanks, FreedomCalls. :)

Have you ever heard William Shatner's cover of Lucy In the Sky? It is beyond belief, used to listen to that album late at night when I was in college.Yes, actually, I have. Too funny! :)
Maybe FReepers need to make a "Worst songs EVER" compilation CD and sell it to pay for FR.
Hey, it could make a lot of money for FR. Although there would be copyright issues, unfortunately.
And I doubt that liberal musicians would want to support FR, LOL!
Never mind... ;)
