Paul McCartney to beam concert into space

LONDON (Reuters) - Former Beatle Paul McCartney is to broadcast live into space from a U.S. concert to two astronauts circling the globe.

He will play "Good Day Sunshine" and one of his latest songs, "English Tea," to NASA astronaut Bill McArthur and Russian cosmonaut Valery Tokarev who are on an international space station 220 miles above the earth.

McCartney, who will be singing into space Saturday from Anaheim, California via NASA television, got the idea when he discovered that the crew of the spaceship Discovery were treated to a burst of "Good Day Sunshine" in August as a wake-up call from Mission Control.

"I was extremely proud to find out that one of my songs was played for the crew of Discovery this summer. In our concert we hope to repay the favor," he said in a statement.

The crew of that cruise ship used a sonic weapon against the pirates. I suggest we use this one particular song of Yoko's against all Islamofascists everywhere, the way Slim Whitman was used against the Martians in "Mars Attacks". Could win the WOT pretty quickly.

Oh, but you've forgotten (for good reason) all the syrupy Carpenter songs! Like Radio...

Paul was never married to Yoko. You're thinking of the late John.

I have the CD.

I use it to motivate my workers, they screw up, they have to listen to it.

Also, you have to see Shatner do "Rocket Man"

It will revulse you, but you can't look away.

Oh yes, he was. Before Eric Clapton stole her. John was married to that Eye-talian model, had a baby with her which fell out of a window, and then wrote My Sweet Lord.

How about:

Someone left the cake out in the rain/I don't think that I can take it...'Cause it took so long to bake it/And I'll never have that recipe again, oh no!

On that note, what, in your opinion, is the worst Beatles song ever (not counting "Revolution 9, which is NOT a song)? I say Sir Paul's "Maxwell's Silver Hammer." EEEUUUUGGGGHHH!

Well, "Honey" was never sweet, but Muskrat Love's lyrics far outweight Honey in terms of utter stupidity.

Here's just a taste(Pun intended):

Do the jitterbug down in muskrat land
And they shimmy
Sam is so skinny

?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! {:o /

I couldn't bare to print the entire song.

As Maude used to say: "God will get you for that, Paul."

Frankly, I rather enjoyed Maxwell's Silver Hammer. Especially the sound effects.

Good decision, I know I don't want to hear it.
