A Demoralized FreeRepublic. What is the Solution? (Vanity)
Nov/10/05 | jveritas

The tone on FR is very demoralized. Liberals and their media unfortunately have succeeded in demoralizing a large number of freepers. From their constant savage attacks on the President and the Republican Party with lies and distortions, to their biased polls, to blaming the President for everything under the sun, many freepers are feeling very demoralized. They are further demoralized because President Bush is not fighting back, because the RINOS in Congress are screwing thing up for the President agenda. Add to that a huge numbers of trolls who infiltrated FR in 2004 and 2005 to divide and demoralize by creating doom and gloom, and piling on the President and the GOP.

So what are the solutions for the demoralization problem?

(1) Stop the knee jerk reaction every time the liberal media write an article telling us that President Bush and the GOP are finished. Stop taking every biased poll as the end of all. No doubt that the President approval is down but no doubt that the polls are so biased to take 6 or 7 points more from his approval numbers. Never before we have had so many polls coming in an off election year and the reason for this is very simple. The media is doing all these biased polls to demoralize the Republican base and it is succeeding to “some” degree as we see from the knee jerk reaction of many freepers. The media is taking any event that is happening and distort it with the most negative spin to demoralize us. Rather than falling for the media lies, distortions and very negative spin we must take anything they write or say turn it around on them and destroy all their lies and spin.

(2) Ask the White House to fight back the lies and distortions of liberal and their media whores. How do we do this? Demand replacing Scott Maclelan? Besides new junkies like us how many people listen to Scott Maclelan? Ask the President to hold a press conference every week to expose the lies liberals and their media? Do you want the President to spend his time fighting every lie and distortion made by liberals and their media? How can we guarantee that the media will cover what the President is saying or what any of his spoke people are saying? Can they just ignore what is he saying?

(3) Put pressure on the RINOS to stop screwing the President agenda. How do we do this? Ask the White to twist their arms? What if the RINOS say to the White House “Screw you”? Ask the GOP leadership in Congress to twist their arms? What if the RINOS also tell them “Screw you”?

(4) Purge the trolls who infiltrated FR in large numbers in 2004 and 2005. These trolls are not necessarily someone who spread Dummy crap on FR. They put on a phony conservative mask and bash the President and the GOP on every occasion. Their main goal is to divide and demoralize. Their job is to spread doom and gloom. Purging these guys can stop a lot of the infighting and the demoralization that is going on. We need to report these trolls to the mods and do not let them get away with this.

AMEN. Just look at 'em. That group could cause a stickhorse stampede. Lighten up everyone, and take getmeouttaPalmBeachCounty_FL's advice: Mark Levin can cure what's ailing us. Funny, uplifting and truth to power words of encouragement.

Well, the question was asked. No one likes the answer, but I can't help that. I do question who is stabbing whom, but some never learn.

Should we take a poll to see how many are demoralized?

Fighting among ourselves and tackling those among us who have weak knees is not they way to gain strength.

Instead, taking the fight to the other side and electing more true conservatives to replace blue belly liberals is the only answer. The Rinos will quit charging our side, when we start looking massive and powerful again and not a day before.

The Harriet Miers nomination failure broke our unity and our spirit and our belief in the President.

To win again, we have to find all three again. Unity, Spirit and Belief in our leadership.

The key to belief is in our hearts, not that of the politicos. When we threaten to cut our own throats to punish politicians who disappoint us, we all lose credibility.

Back back into the breach. Get back on the topic that wins. The Dems are a bad choice, especially for minorities who have long been enslaved to these people.

Also, it is clear that the "reform" of the campaign finance system has only worked to turn more power over to the SUPER RICH which used to be wielded by people and organizations who didn't play on that level.

This is the result of the Left attacking the Republicans and conservatives and those in charge of the largest party that purports to represent conservatives lashing back with wet tissue.

Bush should have learned his lesson way back when with Drowner Kennedy. But he didn't. He's had a Quixotic fixation on being gentlemanly with those who kicking him in the groin and laughing about it.

Put pressure on the RINOS to stop screwing the President agenda.

The President's agenda is just like theirs, and that's why he doesn't do anything about it. He's a RINO in too many ways to be called a Conservative. I'm pretty sure that I speak for most of the FReepers when I say that we are intelligent enough to see through the smoke screens that the MSM lays out. The day I can't out guess the MSM, I'll punish myself. lol

What I'm upset with Bush over is the way he has handled the borders. He has put all Americans at risk for more terror attacks because he didn't slam them shut after 9/11. One of these days, we're going to have a terror attack/attacks so bad that it/they will make 9/11 look like a walk in the park! Guess who's going to be blamed? You guessed it. President Bush, because he didn't close the borders allowing hundreds or even thousands of terrorists to cross the border with intentions of killing as many Americans as they can.

Another thing I'm unhappy about is his spending. He's NOT a conservative. He's a RINO and he's a globalist, and to further that agenda, he's put every one of us at risk! I'm not a troll, and I'm not being led by the MSM. I'm a Conservative, and I make my OWN decisions based on the things that President Bush and the congress critters do or don't do.

The Democrat Party can/will/has done more damage to the United States than any terrorist organization could even dream of causing.

It is the Democrat Party, not some outside entity that will destroy the U.S.

You shouldn't have to be told it should be obvious from examining election returns over the last 20 years or so. I mean how many are to the right of Bush in the House 5%? or the Senate are there any? Governors maybe a couple. I mean come on lets stop pretending.

Bush does have the weekly radio address, you know. But he should be doing more than that. Bush should -- and should have since 9/11 -- had "fireside chats". They worked well for FDR. If Bush stayed connected with the American people then he would have never been in a position where "liberal media lies" could take hold. Bill Clinton understood this, and that's why he managed to survive all of his scandals. The Bush White House is good at behind-the-scenes politics, but they suck when it comes to PR. Bush's drop in fortunes can be directly tied to Scott McClellan. You ask who listens to him. The answer is: THE WHITE HOUSE PRESS CORPS. This should be obvious.

The bottom line is if Bush and his administration don't want to get serious about defending themselves then we should not feel obligated to defend them ourselves.

If Bush wanted to get serious about his public relations, he'd fire McClellan and Card, and start utilizing the bully pulpit for once.
If they can't do that, then we can't help them. If Bush is unwilling, then neither should we.

We need to use FR for more than witty (and not so witty) one-liners about "Hitlery". We could learn a thing or 2 from moveon.org and KOS. They are organized and they are putting forth their own candidates to make the Democrats into the party they want. We should be doing the same. We need to begin recruiting and funding conservative candidates for GOP primaries. JimRob can raise $72,000 in a couple weeks. How about branching out into a 527 targeted at specific RINOs in their primaries? We should be putting candidates up in the GOP primaries against these anti-ANWR big spending liberal Republicans in the House. Even if we don't succeed in beating them in the primary, we can at least force them to walk the party line while they fight for the GOP nomination.

(4) Purge the trolls who infiltrated FR in large numbers in 2004 and 2005. These trolls are not necessarily someone who spread Dummy crap on FR. Who decides who's the troll?
Is the troll the person agitating against Harriet Miers so we can get Alito, or is the troll the person attacking anyone who dares criticize the administration? This forum is meant to exchange ideas, and we aren't always in lockstep. I don't believe this forum ever has or ever will embrace forced conformity.

"No doubt that the President approval is down but no doubt that the polls are so biased to take 6 or 7 points more from his approval numbers."

Even if the "polls" were not deliberately distorted, which would be a foolish assumption with regard to most of them, they really say next to nothing when you consider facts such as that Bill Clinton was elected in 1992 with approximately 21% of eligible voters voting for him.

When you consider that polls done to influence public opinion, which is the point of many if not most, say the president has a "low" approval rating because its below 50%, or whatever, that's really not bad considering that the poll probably includes people not even eligible to vote, let alone the brain-dead who think they're informed when all they know is what they hear is from leftist news sound-bites and Hollywood celebrities and comedians who delight in exploiting the American Dream and then biting the hand that feeds them.

Well Bush has been in hiding since he was elected, and popped up just to run a mediocre re-election campaign. He's disappeared for one year now.

My point was simply that Clinton was always out there, biting his lip, staring off stoically in the distance, choking back crocodile tears...

But you're really picking out the least significant comment of my entire post. What about the rest of it?
