It's a pity he only got two years. But I have a feeling they will be the longest two years of his life.

The article also neglects to mention that almost every 'freed' mink died within days.

He was unrepentent, encouraged more of the same, and got a light sentence...

What's wrong with this picture?

Yes, the premise in the headline is very misleading. It should have read: Domestic Animal Rights Terrorist gets Prison

Or

Mink Killer gets Jail

or

Farm Hater gets Prison

He did not 'free' them he destroyed and vandalized private property, polluted the environment, and endangered wildlife..

He killed many if not most of the mink by his malicious and selfish act and is not only arrogant about his crime he also shows no remorse.

-flush him.

IIRC, there was a similar incident in Oregon where the released minks were expected to ravage the local ecosystem then die of starvation. Is that the same mechanism that killed the minks referred to in this story?

When the ALF released a bunch of mink in England they nearly wiped out the water vole population. They have no natural predators in Britain.

He should have been charged with a wide variety of felonies including theft of all those animals and breaking and entering.

He should have also been charged with thousands of cases of animal abuse.

Two years in jail is a slap on the wrist for what he did.

Agreed! "Liberating" these mink took the bread out of mouths of ranch owners and their families. Raising these minks wasn't a hobbie with these people, it was their liveihood.

Question: If this character had "liberated" 7,000 [or even 700] head of swine would he still have gotten only 2 years?
