and the animals don't care because it's a vast wasteland where they don't hang out anyway.

You're totally wrong on this. The 1002 area of ANWR, where drilling would take place, is the prime calving ground for the Porcupine caribou herd, which is probably the largest remaining herd of wild hoofed mammals in North America. In the fall, the 1002 area is also where thousands of snow geese fatten up for a long southward migration.

Blah, blah, blah, when did hoofed mammals get the right to vote, oh BTW, Caribou use the Alaska pipeline to warm themselves up in the winter..

About the geese, I guess the french would be mad since the geese wouldn't have a place to fatten up to make a superb pate.

The drilling would affect 2000 acres out of 19.6 million (ANWR.org) - are you suggesting that the caribou all congregate to calve in that tiny percentage?

PDF image - proposed drilling area is the tiny red square.

And the caribou have learned to live with Prudhoe Bay and actually thrive in the area. There are scientific statistics to back up claims that the oil drilling has not only NOT hurt wildlife, but actually enhanced wildlife in some case.

Yawn. They are on a piece of real estate that is worth one trillion dollars if we drill. They won't get impacted much at all. The drilling will be environmentally responsible and will impact only a few thousand acres... this is the size of a suburban subdivision, in a wilderness the size of north carolina.

This extremist propoganda about how its the end of the world in ANWR if we poke a few holes in the ground blows things totally out of proportion... Before, during and after we drill in ANWR, the caribou will be there. They arent going away.
