From time to time, I’ll ping on noteworthy articles about politics, foreign and military affairs. FReepmail me if you want on or off my list.

Al-Qaida in Iraq, local insurgents battle over tactics, money

I just happened across that story while looking for Dalrymple's, "The Suicide Bombers Among Us". While long, I believe it's even more interesting because Theodore Dalrymple, if this is the same guy, is or was a British prison shrink.

Very good article. The picture of the Iraq War is a mosaic, a mixture of progress and temporary setbacks. The media dwells on the 2,000 deaths. It's tragic that this many have died, and even one death is significant. But there are hopeful signs in this conflict which the press corps is conveniently omitting..

The lamestream media wants another Vietnam, as much to boost its own circulation and its reporters' celebrity as anything else. We should be thankful that this bunch of losers didn't cover World War II.

My question is why the administration can't get the story out?
