Nov. 9, 2005 21:18 French Interior Min. orders deportation of rioters
By JPOST.COM STAFF
French Interior Minister Nicholas Sarkozy has ordered the deportation of any person convicted of violent participation in the recent riots throughout France that have taken place over the past two weeks, Army Radio reported.

"If Mitterand did that, it must be fairly recent - time to undo it."
which it were that simple.
One other thing,,,,,the one President before Mitterand, GISGARD DeSTAING (WRONG SPELLING), gave Immigrants the right to bring their families....
So Cousins, Aunts, Uncles, the 4 wives with 25 children all started to arrive.
France is overrun by immigrants, they refuse to accept it at governmemt level.
The number of illegal is in 100.OOO's still arriving.
Kristopher.
Thanks again. Looks like gagng graffiti is an international thang. Wouldn't want those scenes to get out. Doesn't wash with the MSM' meme on the disillusioned, oppressed "youths"...
And shoot the ones resisting arrest, or destoying property!
Hey the could re-open Devils' Island!
Citizens should be entitled to the Guillotine treatment!
Karnac sees all...
...The answer is, "100's of plea bargains in return for reduced, non-violent charges."
And the question is, what is going to keep French prosecutors busy for the next 6 months?
You don't think they sank the Island do you. It doesn't have to have any facilities; they can live off the land.... LOL
"I don't suppose there's still a Pretender kicking around, is there? France could do worse."
The Duc d'Orleans is not a pretender, but the legitimate heir to the throne of France. And were such throne to still exist, he would be King. But it doesn't, so he's not, although he does have his partisans, and there is a (small) Royalist Party. (In truth, it is a social club for aristos of a certain age.)
I don't think a restoration is on the cards.
"Where can you deport citizens to?"
How about Devil's Island? Move over, Papillon.
Yes, the lex solis applies in France as well as the lex sanguinis, so whether one is born in France or born of French parents, one is a French citizen.
Citizenship can be removed, however, and lex solis citizenship of illegals is more tenuous than it would be for a clear native-born French.
There is tremendous discretionary power in French government, and appeals are taken to a separate judicial system from the regular civil courts.
"Aren't most of these people French citizens born in France?"
You're being too practical. Try thinking with style, like a Frenchie.
Many thanks for your informed posts. :) Those pictures are amazing.
One wonders just exactly how much more information would be available if, as here, they had a free press, and a free press eager to make Chirac look bad.
I was wondering the same thing. There must be Parisians with digital cameras and internet access?
I understand it's state-controlled media, but maybe someone in Europe can explain why there seems to be very few French blogs discussing this? At least from what I've been able to find. (?)
Lybia. Gaddafi offered the French his assistance with the riots.
"... but the french I am sure will look to him as he is the only tough minded politician not affraid to be politically incorrect."
Let's hope they don't look to Jean-Marie Le Pen.
Yep, they will be sent to Germany and Germany will send France theirs.
A country without a constitution to guide it, can pretty much do what ever the leader wants to do. There are many countries around the world that export their troublemaking citizens to another country.
I don't see this happening, but it is more because of a lack of will on the part of the leaders of France rather then any legal restriction.
