Police Say Teacher Did Not Seem To Notice Bleeding Nose
WINCHESTER, Calif. -- A kindergarten teacher was pulled from her class and arrested for investigation of being under the influence of methamphetamine while teaching, officials said.
Lynne Filippini, 47, was teaching at French Valley Elementary School about 65 miles north of San Diego on Tuesday when "other teachers noticed she was acting strange," said Earl Quinata, a Riverside County Sheriff's spokesman.
She did not seem to notice that her nose was bleeding, said Lt. Cynthia Wait of the Temecula Police Department.
A school resource officer evaluated Filippini and then called the sheriff's department. Officers restrained her when she tried to walk away from them while they questioned her, Wait said.
Filippini was arrested for investigation of being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia -- a straw used to ingest methamphetamine, Quinata said.
"I am thankful nothing bad happened to any students," said former PTA council president Sheryl Johnson.
Danielle Clark, a spokeswoman for the Temecula Valley Unified School District, declined to comment on the arrest, saying it was a police and personnel matter.
Filippini, who has been with the district since 2000, was jailed at the Southwest Detention Center on $2,500 bail.
She was charged last year with two misdemeanor counts of driving while intoxicated, according to court records. That case is still pending
Never mind.....I thought it said Math use...That I could understand..
Okay, before this starts up, I just want to remind everyone to not refer to this teacher as a "meth head." That term is demeaning. Use the term "Metho-American." Of course, she is from California, so she may find the term "American" offensive. In that case, use "Metho-Global Citizen" instead.
I'll bet anyone a basket of turkey jerky....that this teacher will be recycled...once again.
Sure, diversion program and back to the classroom.
no problem - let her retire on full pension.
She's a junkie hag. And anyone who wants to send me to sensitivity training for saying so can drop dead.
Regards, Ivan
She will be hugged and kissed, there will be fund raisers for her rehab by the PTA and she will be placed back in the classroom. Oh - or she will sue.
CUE THE MUSIC! IT'S TIME FOR THE DANCE OF THE LEMONS!

I say that because many, not all, teachers at a certain local school, according to a close sourse, has a fondness for Zoloft
Omg. She was around little kindergartners. She was totally out of it! I'll bet parents are freaking out over this one!
Yepper!
Oh yes Arnie lost and the rats won in California. Who really lost in California?
LOL.
Ca obviously likes this type of thing. More power to them.
she may be given another chance, but the addiction is still there. There is no going back for her.
Calipornia likes a lot of strange things. To the rest of the country, Calipornia elections are like watching a Hollywood Sci Fi movie.
