Syria: Assad to Deliver Pivotal Speech Thursday 14:50 Nov 09, '05 / 7 Cheshvan 5766

(IsraelNN.com) According to the Syrian press agency SANA, Syrian dictator Bashar Al-Assad will deliver an important, "comprehensive" speech on Thursday. It will address both regional and internal issues, the agency said.

A Beirut newspaper, An-Nahar, reported that the speech would include a response to the United Nations investigation of members of the Assad regime in connection with the assassination of Lebanese leader Rafik Hariri earlier this year.

Arab League chairman Amr Mousa is quoted by the Beirut newspaper as saying, "Something very important will happen on Thursday."
