Dear Friend, We've always known that it's essential for the ACLU to engage a broad cross-section of the country in protecting our fundamental freedoms from a sustained governmental assault. That is why I am so excited to tell you more about The ACLU Freedom Files TV series, and to ask for your participation in a new kind of information activism. That is also why I'm thrilled to give you advance notice that Court TV - which reaches 85 million households - will start showing our ground-breaking TV series, beginning in January with the episode on religious freedom. We've seldom had as dramatic and far-reaching an opportunity to reach out to a substantial new audience - and we want to enlist you and other key supporters in the special Freedom Files Producers Club. I hope you can be part of this exciting movement to bring the stories behind the headlines to your friends, family and community by joining the Producers Club. There is nothing complicated or time-consuming about becoming a member of the Freedom Files Producers Club. It's really quite simple. We'll send you a free DVD of every episode for which you carry out an audience-building task such as: * Telling five friends about the show OR * Hosting a house party to share the show with friends or family OR * Linking to information about the show on www.aclu.tv from your blog or Web site In our work together to protect civil liberties at this critical time, you and I have a lot on our plate. But, believe me, nothing is more important than getting more people involved. And there will be few better opportunities than this for you to help engage more people in defense of our fundamental freedoms. Every month through the spring, we'll premiere a new episode on issues including religious freedom, racial profiling, gay and lesbian rights, women at risk, youth, drug policy and voting rights. The show features well-known actors, comedians, and ACLU clients and attorneys. For example, this Thursday, November 10th, we'll be airing our newest show, "Dissent." It features Lewis Black - from Comedy Central's The Daily Show - providing a funny, biting commentary on the state of dissent in America. So, please, start right now with the "Dissent" episode airing this Thursday. To tell your friends about it, just click here, fill out their addresses and we'll send them a short message about the ACLU show. Then we'll send you the free DVD. Thank you so much for helping with this essential outreach project. Sincerely, Anthony D. Romero P.S. The "Dissent" episode airs on Link TV on November 10th and 24th at 8 pm EDT/PDT. You can watch it on online at www.aclu.tv starting Friday, November 11th. To learn more about the Freedom Files Producers Club, go to: http://www.aclu.tv/producersclub.

"Romero is Burning"
"...it's essential for the ACLU to engage a broad cross-section of the country in protecting our fundamental freedoms from a sustained governmental assault."
And, what is to protect 'our fundamental freedoms' from a sustained ACLU assault?
I'd recommend lots of the pink liquid for anyone planning to watch
Patrick (the original) succeeded in pursuading everybody to switch from Wicca to Jesus Christ.
Now they're trying to get us to switch back again!
Did I miss a memo somewhere?
: ^ )
"And the ACLU has some kind of expertise in 'religious freedom'?"
They do indeed. So long as that religion is Islam!
The show where they come out against the unconstitutional gun ban in San Francisco should be very good. /sarc
