Great News!

Most of SF is and 73 is still leading...
... San Deigo & OC have barely reported their non-absentee votes.

Good evening.
I'm interested to see if the handgun ban is going to pass or not."

California Conservative has it passing 57% to 42%.

I guess I'm naive, but this surprises me.

My buddy and his wife just moved out that way, a devout Christian. I remain stuck in the belly of the Northeast Beast.

Its narrow. If 73 passes, thank a heavy Christian voter turnout for the difference in the margin.

Even if tonight is a defeat for Arnold, I have to give him credit for his guts. He could have just sat on his high approval rating and keep letting unions run California into the ground. But he took a stand, even if it's one that ultimately costs him his job.

Prop. 76 and 77 appear to be too far gone for them to recover. But if we still have conservative counties left to count, Prop. 73, 74, and 75 could all win.

Arnold pulled off a brilliant move by putting up four propositions that the liberals had to fight to the death. The critical one is 75--if they lose that fight, they lose going forward.

73 being so close is an astonishing thing.

Agreed.

If this goes down to defeat then no parent child relationship has a chance.

How could that many non caring people vote no.

Sitting here dumbfounded at the ignorance in the alternative life style counties.

Is California trying to take the place of France for shear stoopidity.

Ominously, 0% of the returns are in from LA county, as of this post. Things could get ugly when they start coming in.

You're talking about San Francisco. I don't give a lot of credit to them.

LA still has to come in, but, based on the absentee votes, it won't be so bad.

350,000 figure, at the most, 45-55% against.

Means about 157,000 for and 192,000 against.

35,000 vote margin - and we're up by 135,000 as it is.

Plus we've still got Orange and San Diego.

It looks like we'll win on 75 for sure. 73 is going to be a harder thing. 74 might, by the slightest margin, squeeze by.

Well, Gary Condit could be an exception. I mean, there was links (though not confirmed by a court of law) between him and a murder.

Most people don't hold murderers in high regard. Though Condit's public reaction was rather dismal, and doomed him in and of itself...
