President Rugova is married to a Catholic woman, attends Catholic services, celebrates Christmas, keeps a picture of the Pope on his office wall, is a founding member of the "Christian Albanian Party" and is a politician running for office in a Muslim majority country who has said he is a "symbolic Muslim". I don't think this is much harder to figure out than why Rudy Giuliani wears a green scarf and marches in the St. Patrick's Day parade.
