Attack on Serbs visiting cemetery

DJAKOVICA -- Monday – A bus with forty Serbian people inside was pelted with stones while trying to visit a cemetery in Djakovica this weekend.

The Serbian refugees from Djakovica visited the Orthodox cemetery located near the village. Many of the monuments that have been desecrated recently have been successfully restored and a fence has been put in place around the cemetery.

A commemoration ceremony for the deceased was held in front of what remains of the Holy Prince Lazar church. While the Serbian refugees were visiting the grave sites, several cars drove around the cemetery grounds playing Albanian music very loudly.

While the Serbs were lining up to get back onto the bus before leaving, a group of Albanians, mostly younger individuals, threw stones at the Serbs and shouted obscenities at them. The bus was then escorted by a unit of the UNMIK police and the Kosovo Police Service away from the scene of the attack. The bus suffered minor damages, but none of the individuals were injured.

You got it in one, Sherlock!

MAYBE, they were Albanian Amish, but I seriously doubt it. The Cat Stevens 'Albanian music' is a dead giveaway everytime.

I support the Islamic Independent state within France and Germany. Stop the French and German tyranny against Islam!

That they might know how the Serb feels.

Of course, as far as Serbia goes, we did more to drag the Europeans into the bombing raids then anyone else....wait till the Islamics start up in the NE (actually there are tens of thousands of them here in the Raleigh-Durham area).

"president" ibrahim rugova is a christian?

Yep, he's a Catholic. Why the quotations? That's his title & he's been elected President multiple times.

one that systematically supports destruction of christian sites?

Why don't you post something that shows President Rugova supports the the destruction of Christian sites.

BTW, while you're at it--why is it that the only damage Albanian Christian churches suffered in the war came at the hands of the Serbs? And since you are against the "destruction of Christian sites", then tell me which nationalilty in the Balkans is responsible for the most destruction to Christian sites? Here's a listing. HINT: It wasn't the Slovenes, Bosnians, Macedonians, Croats or Albanians.

Mark is correct - rugova is a christian. But, a christian in name only and not in practice.

While it's not us here on FR, it was 51% of our people voting for him twice. Talk about a divided society.

From a KLA/Albanian apologist site:

To show that they are close to the West, in 1991 the Albanians formed the Democratic Christian Albanian Party, whose members are chiefly Muslims. Ibrahim Rugova said once that he was "a symbolic Muslim." During his frequent meetings with Western representatives, he also met on several occasions with Pope John Paul II and keeps his portrait in his office, and has never visited a single Muslim country.

Gee Mark, what type of Christian is he again?

what type of Christian is he

Lets' see. President Rugova is married to a Catholic woman, attends Catholic services, celebrates Christmas, keeps a picture of the Pope on his office wall, is a founding member of the "Christian Albanian Party" and is a politician running for office in a Muslim majority country who has said he is a "symbolic Muslim". I don't think this is much harder to figure out than why Rudy Giuliani wears a green scarf and marches in the St. Patrick's Day parade.

C'mon, jb6, every good FReeper knows Bill Clinton never got a majority of the votes of the American people. He was elected with 43% in 1992 and 49% in 1996.
