Mink Raider Gets Two Years In Federal Prison [Animal rights activist]

MADISON, Wis. -- An animal rights activist from the Seattle suburb of Mercer Island, Washington -- who dodged federal authorities for years after he freed thousands of mink from Midwestern fur farms -- was sentenced to two years in prison today.

A federal judge in Madison, Wisconsin, also ordered 28-year-old Peter Daniel Young to pay nearly 255-thousand dollars in restitution to the mink farmers.

Young pleaded guilty in September to two counts of animal enterprise terrorism in a deal with prosecutors.

Investigators say Young and an accomplice trespassed, cut fences and released caged mink from farms in Wisconsin, South Dakota and Iowa in 1997. Federal investigators believe they were acting on behalf of the Animal Liberation Front, a group that aims to destroy animal industries it considers inhumane.

Young disappeared after the indictment came down and remained at large until March, when police arrested him for allegedly trying to shoplift C-D's from a Starbucks coffee store in San Jose, California.

$255K, I'm sure he's got that handy. $1K and ten years would be better - they are classifying it as terrorism after all.

There was a similar case several years ago where PETA activists "liberated" thousands of minks one night. The poor minks went through hell, many attacked and killed each other as chaos ensued. Thousands of the freed minks perished because they were suddenly released at night with no one to care for them, and the little dummies didn't have the first idea how to take care of themselves.

Lets' hope, His new 'prison name' is "Squeaky".
I wish, he'd recieved a ten year sentence, instead of a two year term. :/

Peter Daniel Young. Rest in peace in your cell, you POS. The people that you tried to destroy financially are hard working farmers trying to make a living without breaking the law. You chose to break the law to disrupt and destroy the lives of law abiding people. Have fun in prison.

But that is irrelevant. They were free at last. /sarc

Now lets see if the minks repay their debt and bust him out.

To repay their debt to him killing their relatives, they should share his bed every night of his sentence, the vicious little toothy buggers.

Better deal-

Sell him to me, and let me work him to death.

Are you the guy the wrote on a bathroom wall where I worked in 1968, "Of course I believe in civil rights; everybody should be able to own a slave,"?

No parole in Federal Prison, so he'll serve the whole two years.

It is not only legal, but constitutional, to indenture for cause. Guess you get your info off shithouse walls, eh?

Must be pretty good money in the license plate biz.

"Sell" and "work to death" don't exactly sound like "free indenture.

As to the other, I don't get my information off sh*thouse walls; just see evidence there of previous vists by sh*theads.

Mercer Island is one of the richest areas of Seattle. Corporate executives, pro athletes, etc....

Many of these activist types are spoiled rich kids trying to rebel from Mommy and Daddy.
