Your car is part of your life, in the sense that you spent time working to earn the $$ to buy it. Same goes for anything else you own.
Property crime is incremental murder, as the perpetrators are stealing your time, and time is something in life you can never get back. Sure we all have insurance, but we still pay one way or another.
That's why I hold thieves in the lowest possible esteem.

Property isn't really part of your life. You can buy a thing and enjoy it, but in the end it's just "stuff."
I hold thieves in low regard as well, but have no desire to have a dead one in my kitchen because he tried to steal "stuff." And I certainly don't want some dead low life defining my life.
NO,NO,NO....because for the most part the legal and illegal immigrants from the southern lands are here to make MONEY!!!
They didn't wake up one day and say gee, I'd like some American welfare. The ones who are here to stay with families, pool their money and move to better digs once they've made enough.
Truthfully, Fledermaus, I wasn't even thinking of Police, Nat Guard or Military. They are all reactive forces. They don't come in until after whatever event begins. Like in New Orleans, it's up to me to defend my home until the cavalry has arrived.
yup..and since the police/fire etc are so busy taking care of everything else, joe citizen isn't exactly at the top of their list..ya gotta do what ya gotta do until law and order is restored..

Different level of rioting than the Liberty City riots. A bunch of people running down the street setting cars on fire wouldn't make it very far in America.
