Police Lose Track Of 2,400 Sex Offenders
Offenders Could Face Charges For Failing To Report Address
POSTED: 2:34 pm EST November 8, 2005
LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan police don't know the whereabouts of more than 2,400 convicted sex offenders.
Another 6,000 may or may not be staying where police think they do.
The offenders are listed on a state registry so residents can keep tabs on sex offenders in their neighborhoods. The offenders could face additional charges for failing to call in their new addresses within 10 days.
By law, people convicted on sex-related felony charges must confirm their addresses four times a year. Those who committed misdemeanor offenses must report once a year.
Most of those listed on the registry are required to report to local police for 25 years.
No problem.
Just round them up at the next state convention for the Democratic Party.
It even displays pictures of the Perps.
Here in Houston, I'm signed up on a program which alerts me when an offender moves into my zip code. It gives a photo and a description of the offense.
Michigan has pictures too. In my county, I can also check some actual court records. Found out one local guy who lives across the street from a park is not allowed within 500 feet of a park. I live on the other side of the park in view of his home.
Just offer bounties.
Problem solved
NEXT!!!!
Speaking of wasting resources -- all it takes to get on the "sex offender" list in Michigan is public urination.
LOL, so true it shouldn't be funny.
I know it....who would ever have believed?
