Ex-president Bill Clinton is arguing that tighter immigration laws are hurting America, saying the new restrictions aren't worth it even if they stop the "one out of a zillion [foreigners] who might have a bomb."
"I'm very worried that one of the consequences of our tightness on immigration and visas as a result of 9/11 and terror, has led to a drop in many places of the number of foreign students coming to the United States to study and be graduate students," Clinton told an audience at the University of Minnesota on Saturday.
He said the U.S. needed foreign students because "we are nowhere near graduating enough scientists and engineers to maintain, given the size of our economy, a leadership role in the global economy."
Clinton said the terror trade-off wasn't worth it.
"When we got real tough on visas - because one out of a zillion of them might have a bomb - we lost a lot of brains. We might have dodged a bomb but we lost a lot of brains."
On another subject, the former president also praised actress Geena Davis, star of the new ABC Show "Commander in Chief."
"I did see one episode of 'Commander in Chief'," Clinton told the crowd. "Geena Davis is good for two reasons. She looked tough but not macho. She didn't look lion-tough. And she spoke Spanish. So I thought those two things were good."
"Ruh roh, what are those on FR, who for a year were touting hillary as the savior on immigration going to say now."

Billy Jeff remains a permanent peasant of a person on the world stage. This quote alone shows how much mindless word drool comes out of his mouth. He surely must be paying his speech writers the minimum wage nowadays. I truly believe he and his "for show only" wife are actually bitter that we haven't had another 'human created' Catastrophe/Terrorist Attack in America in the last few years. He probably already has that speech written where he says "...See it didn't just happen on my watch...".
These are words out of the mouth of a person who has lived in a zone of life which is surrounded by bodyguards and servants and priviledge.
I submit that Clinton and his "wife" have absolutely NO CONCEPT of the dangers the average person lives with on the streets of the USA with nasty, uncivil illegal immigrants are roaming.
When that jerk spends a continous month waking in my shoes or the shoes of any average American, especially without all the perks of the Secret Service, then he can venture forth with an "opinion" about how good or bad the impact of illegal intruders can be..
That makes no logical sense whatsoever. After their visas expire, if they obey the law, they'll be returning to their country.

Oh, puleeze! The Chinese nationalists are coming over our Southern borders. I've heard there are schools in Mexico training them to appear to be Latinos, not Chinese. Chavez provides the Western port of entry, and like a column of ants they head North. I kid you not.

I will prefice my comment by saying that I am NOT a Hillary supporter and NEVER will be. Now to my comment to you, Dane. Why is it that you seem to think that Bill Clinton's opinions on the Immigration subject are shared by his wife, Hillary? This article did not even mention Hillary's name nor whether or not she agrees with Billy Boy.
OK I get it - der slickmeister and Jimmuh are having a contest to see who can be the biggest horse's rear end for the month of November - the other day Jimmuh came out with zinger when he was praising Dingy Harry and saying some other BS that I can't remember so now it's Krinton's turn. If this ain't it, I can't figure it out.
