People for American Way Leads ‘Stop Alito’

A familiar liberal group has launched another campaign to "save the courts,” this time, from Supreme Court Nominee Sam Alito.

People for the American Way began a targeted, national TV campaign Sunday during NBC’s "Meet The Press” with a commercial "to help tell all Americans that Samuel Alito is part of the radical right's dream team.”

Sounds good so far.

According to a fundraising e-mail received by NewsMax, the group views the Alito nomination as a critical step in regaining a mainstream – read: liberal – agenda for America.

"We cannot let the White House and its right wing echo chamber be the only voices that people hear,” according to the fundraising letter. "… Americans need to know that the extremist right exerts increasing influence over the ailing Bush Administration.”

The group, of course, asks for money to aid in this cause. Ralph G. Neas, president of People for the American Way and supposed author of the fundraising letter, says future advertisements will link Alito to former Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork.

"Future ads will tell Americans more about Alito's rulings and judicial philosophy - and exactly why Robert Bork and other right wing leaders are rejoicing and claiming victory over Alito's nomination!”

The same group prepared a similar campaign against then-Supreme Court nominee John Roberts. The "Reject Roberts” campaign also tried to link Roberts to Bork and portray the nominee as an "extreme right wing ideologue.”

Roberts was confirmed by a comfortable margin in the U.S. Senate and now presides as Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court – sitting in the center, but apparently leading to the right.

What these leftists don't seem to understand is that most Americans disagree with their anti-American agenda.

It's important to get the word out about these loonies. Since they ARE so far out of the mainstream, way out on the left fringes, this could be a great opportunity to help Alito! LOL

Which decodes from Leftist speak to:
We cannot allow pro-Constitutionalists, law-abiding justices to appear on the SCOTUS which would undermine our liberal activist agenda on the court, and in the legal system, in general.

"to help tell all Americans that Samuel Alito is part of the radical right's dream team.”

They're dreaming.

What a blast it would have been to see Robert Bork nominated.

The liberal heads would still be spinning.

Go get em Alito.

I think they understand that quite clearly. They just don't care. Groups don't spew propoganda to influence those who agree already with them.

Republicans are the majority in the House.
Republicans are the majority in the Senate.
Republicans have a president in the White House.
Republicans are the Governors of 28 states.

Who is the mainstream?

How can we help hear the leftist loons. They have Dean shrieking for them.

We can hear you now, we just don't want what you're selling.

Shouldn't there be about 4 Alitos (liters) in a Court (quart)?

Am I just imagining things, or is the name People For The American Way the most Orwellian name any political organization has ever had?

They understand alright, but don't give a damn.

The leftists think the rest of us are too stupid to make our own decisions.

A liter is bigger than a quart.

Actually I think when the third aging justice dies or says they're going to retire, Bush should nominate Bork. I'd love to see a few liberal heads torque themselves to their popping points.

Oh God, that Ralph Fleas or Sleaze, or whatever-his-name-is, is at it again. We should make sure that that s.o.b. doesn't do to Alito, what he did to Bork.

Me too!

Bork certainly is well qualified.

It just amazes me that people like Teddy Kennedy have anything to say at all about this, or any other matter concerning ethics.

I like Tarratino's comment, NRO, that when anytime ole Teddy gets on his high horse to say anything about ethics, that we hit him back with, "I guess Mary Jo won't be making a statement today."
