LOS ANGELES, November 7, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Top celebrities released strong endorsements for the YES on 73 campaign today during the final push for Prop 73, the "Parents' Right to Know" initiative on California's special election ballot next Tuesday, November 8th. Ben Stein, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Patrick Warburton, Laura Ingraham, and Patricia Heaton are all running radio spots in California encouraging support for Prop 73.
If passed, Proposition 73 will prevent an abortion from being performed on a minor girl until 48 hours after her parent or guardian is notified.
Patricia Heaton says, "As a parent, I can't think of anything more important than the welfare of our children. Proposition 73 will ensure that parents can help their young daughters if they become pregnant." Dr. Laura Schlessinger says, "I already voted YES on Prop 73 through an absentee voting form. I urge everyone who cares about children to do the same." (see here for Heaton's full statement: http://www.yeson73.net/content/view/39 )
Famed actor and talk show host Ben Stein says that while "current California law requires parental permission for children to get tattoos . . . even aspirin", the current law allows children to get an abortion, "a potentially life threatening procedure without her parents even knowing." That's why, he says, he's joining millions of Americans in supporting prop 73. (hear Stein's full radio spot here: http://www.yeson73.net/audio/ben-stein1.mp3 )
Actor Patrick Warburton, concerned for the safety of his children, especially his young daughter, warns parents in a video statement that, "California law currently allows someone "other than a parent" to take a child, a girl as young as 12 years of age, to go and get an abortion without the parents knowing anything about this. This means that your neighbor, a teacher, an older boyfriend, a sexual predator -- can legally take your 12-year-old daughter to go and get an abortion, a secret, confidential abortion."
Like many parents, Warburton believes this is wrong. He wants to change the law to protect young girls and restore parents' rights. Warburton adds, "I can tell you as a father, who loves his daughter more than anything in the world, I will vote YES on 73 come Tuesday, November 8th. I hope that you do too."
Audio statements from Dr. Laura, and Laura Ingraham are available on the YES on 73 site: http://www.yeson73.net/
Patrick Warburton fan here... Even more reason to like him!
Who is Patrick Warburton?
Patricia Heaton is Rays wife on "Everybody Loves Raymond". She is also the spokeswoman for "Feminist for Life". She rocks!
You bet.
I believe that the millions of parents in Ca. are finally getting it and this will pass. Mrs. Patriot and I voted yes today by absentee!
Love it: the voice of Joe Swanson on "Family Guy"!

Has Pat Boone checked in yet?
FReepmail me if you would like to be added to, or removed from, this ping list.

He's been on a lot of sitcoms. Played Elaine's boyfriend on several episodes of "Seinfeld". Starred in the short-lived TV comedy "The Tick". Does lots of voices in TV and film cartoons, and commercial voice-overs. Terrific sense of humor.
Amazing that a Republican governor, a foreigner from AUSTRIA has to put forth a PROPOSITION and go directly to the people. Our legislature are spineless, godless, immoral, American/Christian-hating scum who have taken California down the path of moral and feduciary ruin.
One school district, which shall remain nameless, had classes during Easter week but made Good Friday a holiday. They didn't call it Good Friday. They called that Friday of Easter Week Cesar Chavez's birthday. Yes, it was NOT a day off during EASTER WEEK for Jesus' passion, crucifixtion and death but for Cesar Chavez's birthday! Public schools, ain't they great? Only in California.
:o) Hey, I'm just warmin' up.
Elaine's boyfriend on Sienfeld?
I loved "The Tick". And Patrick was perfect for the role!
"Who is Patrick Warburton?"
I googled him, he's "Puddy" (sp?) from Seinfeld.
I'm just so proud of all these folks for standing up for this entirely sensible law.
Patricia Heaton is a big hero to me for her outspokeness on these issues, but she still drives me nuts on "Raymond" because of her outspokeness. I think I secretly always take Marie's side.
Excellent to see him a prolife advocate!
Woohoo! Knew I liked him for a reason!
Patrick Warburton. Played David Puddy on Seinfield. Voice of Kronk in Emeperor's New Grove, Voice of "the Tick," was in Men in Black II, and dozens of other films and TV shows.
Everyone loves Patricia and 'Puddy' and Laura. But way to go Ben - he adopted his son Tommy so he must be especially happy that mother chose life.
