Here is an email I recieved from NJGOP Chairman Tom Wilson. I can confirm that the blocs are shifting towards Forrester. If the GOP has strong turnout and the conservatives show up Doug will win. I am a conservative and diagree with Doug on social issues but agreeing on economic policy and reform and not voting for another sleezy corrupt NJ Politician is enough for me.
My fellow Republican:
I want to thank you for all your support and effort over the past ten months. With less than 36 hours to go until the polls close, public opinion surveys are all over the place indicating a race that will truly come down to the wire. The Forrester campaign's own polling shows that Jon Corzine's support among key voting blocs is trending downward and Independent voters are lining up behind Doug.
This weekend, thanks to your amazing efforts, our volunteer effort connected with over 400,000 voters including an amazing 300,000 personal contacts at the door! This is truly the most comprehensive, targeted, and massive voter turnout effort launched in our state party's history and it couldn't have happened without you. We cannot rest on our laurels, though.
Corzine and the political bosses who run New Jersey are using every dirty trick they can to steal this election. Remember the last time he was on the ballot? Busloads of homeless drug addicts were transported from Philadelphia to "work the polls" on election day. Last Friday, his lawyers fought our efforts to prevent fraud by advocating that dead people should be left on the voter registration lists (wonder why?). We've received word that the special interests he's plied with his money and promises of unfettered access to your tax dollars are being threatened, intimidated and paid off in a desperate effort to rescue Corzine's foundering campaign. Shameless.
We'll be knocking on more doors and making more phone calls over the next 36 hours. Please help us hit our goals by joining us at a phone bank or volunteering for our ground effort today or tomorrow. It's been your support that has gotten us this far and it's your effort that will push us over the top tomorrow. If you can give us just a couple more hours today or tomorrow, please contact your local GOP headquarters http://www.njgop.org/directory/County.htm to find out where you can help.
Voters are sick and tired of the politics that Jon Corzine represents - the backroom deals, the party bosses deciding who gets homeland security money, the millions of tax dollars being wasted to build hockey arena's for millionaire team owners. Voters want change and our Republican Party is going to deliver for them!
Finally, I want to thank all the candidates who are running for us this year. Their commitment to cleaning up New Jersey and serving their communities is inspiring. We owe them a great debt of thanks and an effort that is worthy of their sacrifice.
Tom Wilson
NJGOP Chairman
c'mon all mainstream joisey voters, make us proud and get the RATS out of trenton!
its mine. I know a state senator who has access to internal polls and I know the results. At least 10% of the elctorate is undecided. Corzine filled suit on Ftiday blocking the removal of dead people from voting lists.
I am thinking that Forrester is going to win.
If I were a New Jersey Republican I would vote for Forrester as the lesser of two evils and as an individual who is apparently a decent man on a personal level.
On the other hand, if I were a New Jersey Republican I would do anything possible to keep the offspring of that pompous blowhard Tom Kean Senior out of the Senate, even if it meant holding my nose and voting for Corzine again.
I know New Jersey Republicans who were actually turned off when Judas Tom Kean Senior endorsed Forrester in a television commercial where he referred to him as a "moderate" who will protect a woman's right to choose.
Remember Tom Kean Senior thought Chrissie Whitman was too conservative. From what I've heard the most his son has going for him is his father's name - and that should be a negative rather than a positive.
Tom Kean Senior chaired the 9-11 Commission and told "people" to "butt out" when they justifiably criticized Jamie Gorelick.
Tom Kean Senior believes in "reparations" for blacks.
Tom Kean Senior believes in Affirmaitve Action.
Tom Kean senior doesn't believe in Second Amnedment Rights.
Tom Kean Senior provided Bill Clinton with an invitation to speak and a forum at Drew University right before the election in which he beat Bush I. He referred to Bill Clinton as "his old friend". (Kean was President of Drew at the time.)
Tom Kean Senior gave a speech at Drew University right before the last Presidental election in which he stated "your government betrayed you" which was aimed at Bush II, for whom he did not campaign actively in New Jersey - a state Bush COULD have and SHOULD have won - and almost did.
Tom Kean Senior is a typical Limousine Liberal and RINO and my guess is his boy is a chip off the old block - liberal and arrogant.
I WAS going to vote LP, but I'm going to pull the lever for Doug in order to vote AGAINST Corzine.
I agree with you on Kean Sr. But I hear Kean Jr. is more conservative. However, would u rather have Kean who will vote for tax cuts but not social issues or Corzine who will vote 100% liberal. I would rather have another RINO because NJ is not getting a conservative anytime soon.
I noticed that all voters in NJ who have died in the last 10 years have been put on a list to make sure they don't rise from the dead and vote tomorrow.
I think Doug will win. Corzine is only at 45% in most polls and there are a lot of conservative undecideds. In 2000 Corzine was up double digits in polls and won by 2% to Bob Franks. Whitman was down 7 and won by 26k votes. Somewhow my gut tells me we will pull this out.
Are you series?
The only voter fraud I ever hear about in the MSM is accusations against those awful Republicans.
But winning and being declared the winner in a Democratically-held state are two entirely different things, as we witnessed in Washington last year.
So he's planning on challenging his own son in the primary? He is indeed a pompous blowhard if he'd do something that low.
I have an optimist feeling about this too.
I will vote early in the morning! I wish I could vote often too but I have the wrong Initial after my name and i am breathing! :( Come on Jersey Republicans VOTE!!!!!
We can do this thing!!!
