FRANCE will impose curfews in its city suburbs "if necessary" to curb riots that are raging across the country, Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin said today.
He also said 1,500 police reinforcements are to be deployed to restore public order.
How are you going to tell these "enraged youths" that they have to stop setting cars on fire because they're past their curfew.

Apparently the police have asked for reinforcements from the army. However the government has announced that it will not allow the army to be used. Seems there is a question over the potential loyalties of the army.
When do they force French politicians to become suicide bombers? :)
