I live in Chautauqua County, NY (westernmost county in the state). We had a storm blow through at about 1PM that brought heavy hail, blew my grill cover right off my grill, and brought down tree limbs. My power went out for about 2 hours, so be careful.

Having just had my power restored after 12 days (post WILMA) pardon me if I can't get too excited. Some parts of my area are still in the dark and it's now been 13+ days.

It is unreal out there.

I had to go to the cottage today (on Lake Erie, across from Penn.) and I have never seen the lake like it was today. I was supposed to bring in chairs, lattices, hanging pots, etc, but it was impossible. The wind banged me up against the cottage a couple of times.

I knew what Rush meant when he described a hurricane as being like standing by a jet plane. I couldn't hear my neighbour speaking to me, three feet away.

Came through Cleveland this morning. It was like a hurricane - horizontal rain, unbelievable winds, very frequent lightning.

Luckily, the worst of it only lasted about 15 minutes or so. On the radar, it looks like its a bit larger now though as it heads East.

On the bright side, it blew most of the leaves out of the trees so I can get them cleaned up once instead of every other day for the next month.

Thunder(or lightning)in the fall means no winter at all.

Where I live in Washington county, quite often the Hudson and Battenkill rivers send storms to either the north or south, but I will be listening for the thunder.

You certainly don't want your Coxsackie to get blown away.

I don't like it when you Northerners get our weather up there. It generally means that sometime we will get a swap and we'll have some of your weather. We don't do snow too well down here. I wish you all a safe night with that squall line, it looks like one of ours and they sometimes ain't too nice.

I'm in Rome, New York and we've had the winds and heavy rain, along with thunder and lightening. The thunder and lightening has been going on for at least an hour now.

Just listening to the weather guy on CNN- Chad...he said there wil be a lot of people without power in the morning- and the whole area should keep their eye out for the warnings...this is a similar situation as occured in KY/IN last night...high winds and tree damage.

Thanks for the alert. It's here in NH now. The local TV stations didn't have any info about the storm!
