"Three simple words: "We were duped."

The 'Rats should try "brainwashed" (just like G. Romney) and get that Turbined Dick ('Rat, IL) out in front to cry us a river.

Look for the Dems involved with "Phase Two" refuse to sign on to any findings outside of their agenda, regardless of the evidence.

Why do I think that a slogan that translates (roughly) to "We're complete f-ing morons" will not be a successful pitch in 2006?

If the dems try this "I was fooled" message, not only will they look like dopes, they'll also look like liars. Most of the loudest "I was tricked" voices were also those who chimed right in on the WMD and Saddam-is-a-threat message prior to the war. So I say, you go for it, dems. Bring it on.

Counter ad by the GOP.

The dims saying "we were duped"

Show all the blabbling dims on Iraq pre 2000 including Clinton.

Then just have the words "Duped? By Whom?"

Fade to black.

I REALLY hope the 'RATS use this "We Were Duped" as their campaign slogan in '06 and '08. Americans will be laughing at them all the way to the polls.

John Kerry duped a willing Congress with his mendacious testimony about his 3 months in Vietnam, his 1st month was spent in training. The Democratic politicians who spoke out against Saddam are well documented - that list should be posted again and again. (Mine is filed under lost*~*)

Oh yea, that'll work. "We were duped". ROFL!!

The Dems actually think that that excuse is going to help them in ballot box? Don't they realize that what they are saying is that ALL of the Democrat representatives in our government were collectively "duped"? Including a Democrat President? If they think this statement should make us think they are the best ones to run this country, then they are not only stuck on stupid, they ought to have that tatooed on their COLLECTIVE foreheads!

Three simple words: "We were duped."

Yes, starting in 1998 when the President used intelligence to assert that Iraq had stockpiled WMD and had on going nuclear weapons programs. The were duped into supporting an attack on a sovereign country.

Given the 9-11 attack on New York, the continuing recalcitrance of Iraq to conform to the wishes of the UN and that the countries intelligence agencies changed little between 1998 and 2002 I would say that many people may have been duped.

It cannot be a good thing for the RATS to go there.

At least four other Democratic senators who voted to authorize war have used the dupe argument in recent days, including Christopher Dodd of Connecticut (who periodically voices White House ambitions) and Tom Harkin of Iowa (who now calls his war support "one of the biggest voting mistakes of my career").

One fact never mentioned in these stories is how the Democrats tried to push the vote for war until after the 2002 elections. Everyone complained that the American people had a right to know how the candidates felt about something that important before going to the polls to vote for them.

If the Democrats were "duped" into anything, it was on voting before the 2002 election, not on voting for the war. They all wanted to postpone the vote until after they won back their seats for six more years, which would free them to game the vote.

And, that would have been the people doing the duping, not the Bush Administration.

Democrats should know all about being lied to. Their party leaders have lied to them for decades.
Dim Senators weren't duped into voting for the war. They actually spoke in favor of it.
Dims are just Dopes!

They are correct. The President duped them. They were given faulty intelligence.

They never would have agreed to these things and said what they did if not for that.

So, when did they say 'these things' about Saddam, Iraq, and war?

During CLINTON's TERM.

So, if any President 'lied' to them, it must have been Bill Clinton.

Here is where they will really 'dupe' themselves, though.

Are not Hillary Clinton and John Kerry and all the other naysayers on the SENATE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE?

Would they not be the ones with the latest intel on Iraq and Saddam?

Don't they advise the President?

So, now, who would be lying then, if the President got bad info?

The Democratic party appears to have finally come up with a way to explain why so many of its elected leaders gave President Bush the authority to wage war in Iraq.

Three simple words: "We were duped."

Well, that just fills me with ALL KINDS OF CONFIDENCE in their ability to lead! How 'bout the rest of you?

They weren't duped. They don't give a flyin' sh!t about WMD. They just came to realize after the 02 and 04 elections that they have to come up with something...anything to get the "7% squishy middle" to vote for them or they are hopelessly destined for 3rd party status. Without ideas or charismatic leaders of their own the only way for them to make a comeback is to criminalize the GOP. JMHO.

They're trapped between their support for the war and their anti-war kooks. Talk about trying to push a square into a round hole. No matter what the Democrats do, they come across looking as unprincipled, indecisive and weak. Not a party Americans want to entrust to with our country's national security.
