LONDON A British judge has apologized to a suspected Islamic militant for ordering him to court on one of the Muslim calendar's holiest days.
Today marks the end of a month of fasting during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
Haroon Rashid Aswat (hah-ROON' rah-SHEED' AHZ'-waht) is accused of trying to set up a terrorist training camp in Oregon, and the U-S government is seeking his extradition. Today was the first day of his extradition hearing in London.
Aswat told the judge he didn't mind being in court today, but that suicide bombers "are very simpleminded" and could "take it as an insult."
The judge apologized for the timing of the appearance, saying if she'd known the importance of the day she would have changed the date.
Aswat's case was adjourned until November 24th.

I am gagging in my boots. England has learned ZERO about the Muslim culture.

Gee, that's really wonderful.

And the papers print this to make the suicide bombers aware of the insult?

Just a little thinly veiled threat.

Asshat told the judge he didn't mind being in court today, but that suicide bombers "are very simpleminded" and could "take it as an insult." Gosh, you have to be careful not to hurt the delicate sensibilities of head-choppers, homicide bombers, and all the muslims that support them through their money-laundered charity scams. They'll eat out of the dumpster for dinner and ask for more when their imam tells them to, but an infidel has to bow and scrape or they might do something crazy.

Mega-barf. And we wonder why this world is so screwed up.

Would he have said the same to a Christian or a Jew or a one of another religion? NO, NO, NO. It looks as though Islam is taking over everything.

This made me sick to my stomach.
"Aswat told the judge he didn't mind being in court today, but that suicide bombers "are very simpleminded" and could "take it as an insult."
"The judge apologized for the timing of the appearance, saying if she'd known the importance of the day she would have changed the date."
So the terrorist threatens the judge and the judge apologizes. Absolutely sickening.

This is all about intimidation not respect for religious beliefs. The Nazi's used it with great results....till Churchill took over.

You don't coddle those who will destroy you, and you don't let immigrants in your country change your customs. Its their job in a new country to assimilate. Don't like the ways of that country? Don't come in the first place.

Today marks the end of a month of fasting during the DAYLIGHT HOURS of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
So it's only a 12 hour fast!
"During the Fast of Ramadan strict restraints are placed on the daily lives of Muslims. They are not allowed to eat or drink during the daylight hours. Smoking and sexual relations are also forbidden during fasting. At the end of the day the fast is broken with prayer and a meal called the iftar. In the evening following the iftar it is customary for Muslims to go out visiting family and friends. The fast is resumed the next morning."

Yes, it is sickening. Aren't there laws against threatening a judge, even in England? BTW, love your tag line, so true.

Aswat's case was adjourned until November 24th. You can't do that your honor.
