November 4, 2005 -- WASHINGTON — Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, a Republican trying to become the state's first African-American senator, is demanding an apology from Sen. Charles Schumer — over an Internet link to a blog that includes racially based attacks on Steele.
The blog, run by Steve Gilliard, who is himself black, portrays Steele in minstrel blackface and calls him "Simple Sambo."
Gilliard had also vowed to show Steele as a "lawnboy" but instead ran a caricature of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas with this notation: "They all look alike, don't they?"
The Schumer-led Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee took down the link after Republicans complained.
The DSCC had previously sparked an FBI probe when two staffers illegally got hold of Steele's credit reports.
"I've never received a personal call from Chuck Schumer to have an apology from him," Steele told WTOP radio.
But spokesman Phil Singer said the DSCC "apologized repeatedly" over the credit reports and he saw no need for Schumer to do so personally.

Steve Galliard can run his mouth as much as he wants. It won't change the fact that Thomas as black as he is.

He should turn the incident into something funny.
He sounded great on Laura though, he has some really good comebacks. What the democrats are doing to him is unbelievable.

I bow to your better knowledge of the gory details. It is not commonly taught. That is my point.
The lawn jockey should be revered and not reviled. But we have a twisted history, with a leftist agenda.

It wasn't Schumer's content and while he is a genuine arse, when they found out about the content of the link they took it down.
Steele's beef is with the blog, and not Schumer & posse.
He probably would have had me deemed a threat and thrown off the plane, so I just gave him a dirty look with my cold hard stare.

He is so low he could ooze under an earthworm - and he has lots of company in the association of misfits called the Democrat Party.
I have three old ones. Some people in my neighborhood called me racist, etc. until I pulled up the website about this. I think I saw the original statuette in Mount Vernon years ago and would like to get an original.

If the supreme court would have decided that free states were not required to return slaves, the value of slaves would have dropped to the point of economical inviability.

Democrats also supported and passed gun control laws as a way of disarming blacks and fr many years, the law was selectively enforced only against blacks. And the first drug laws were supported by Democrats looking for additional reasons to imprison blacks for southern prison work farms where Democrats made millions of dollars of their slave labor.
The GOP should be TELLING everybody, not complaining.
