I participated in the Revolution as a DemocRAT back then.

I also have to give credit to Jimmah Carter for showing me the way.

A good read. Reagan was a true leader.

on November 4, 1980, the voters in 44 states chose Ronald Reagan

And I was one of them - it was my first vote, and one of my most cherished. I doubt I'll ever see a man of Reagan's caliper again in my lifetime.

I'm sorry that I was only old enough to vote for Ronald Reagan in 1984. I would have voted for him in 1980 but was not old enough to vote. I actually liked Ronald Reagan after seeing him in the 1976 Republican Convention, when he tried to take the nomination from Ford.

My first Presidential vote - Jimmuh converted me from loony lib to conservative in four short years. I was heavily into the punk rock scene then, and my friends all thought I had lost my mind - many an interesting argument in 1980. Seems like only yesterday!

Just remember that a key point of the Laffer Curve is to set the tax rates to MAXIMIZE government revenue. Maybe this was just a way for Reagan to sell the idea of lower tax rates.

That vote for Reagan was my first vote "FOR" a president. Going back to Ike, all my previous votes had been against someone, the lesser of two evils if you will.

The two votes for Reagan were FOR. The vote for Goldwater was close but with reservations.
