Family members are investigating what they consider to be suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a nursing home patient at the center of a life and death tug-of-war reminiscent of the Terri Schiavo tragedy.
Seventy-nine-year-old Jimmy Chambers died in the early morning hours of Oct. 24 after the tracheotomy tubes that deliver oxygen from a ventilator to a hole in his neck became unhooked. Family members were told Chambers, a resident of the Anne Maria Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in North Augusta, S.C., apparently pulled the interlocking tubes apart.
"We're having it investigated. We're just incredulous," Chambers' daughter, Deanna Potter, told WND in reference to her siblings. "The last time I saw dad he was blowing me a kiss. I blew him one and he blew one back."
The retired dispatcher for Holland Motor Express died approximately 10 hours later. His death certificate indicates he died of "natural causes."
"Apparently, suffocation is a 'natural cause' when you're on a ventilator. We're contesting that," said Potter. "He suffocated. He didn't just pass away. He struggled and fought. And I'm just so angry."
Potter estimates it would have taken 10 to 14 minutes for her father, deprived of oxygen, to fall unconscious, and questions why the nursing home staff didn't come to his aid.
"The oxygen-saturation meter and his ventilator both would have had alarms going off. Four-thirty, five o'clock in the morning you'd think someone would hear this," she added. "That's the thing that really bothers me and makes me suspicious."

Already my friend is facing the battle that the mil's insurance does not want to pay for rehab.
Now that's interesting. What's insurance for?
Wonder if this is an 'age discrimination" issue.
Prays for your Sunday school teacher.
Then, down to the extermination camp called hospice woodside to witness Easter service upon Easter service, the warm sunshine, a feeling of hope and the signs that said "I thirst". That was the day of the Not Dead Yet demonstration.
Of course there were swat teams and cops everywhere you turned. What an Easter, the judges, cops and hospice and HINO and his death lawyers torturing an innocent woman to death and torturing her family and all of us who were there to show support.
America changed that day...
I read the article, but I'm confused on a couple of points. Is the reason the nursing home has a problem with June Maxim because she is pro life and has been a strong supporter of these issues, or because her father's will states his sister is in charge? Legally, Ms. Maxim is next of kin. Does her aunt approve of starving and dehydrating her brother?
I'll see what I can do about phoning or writing this nursing home, but doesn't Ms. Maxim have legal recourse? Not only is this tragic, but it's also horribly ironic. The devil is always busy : (
Thank you...
I pinged you for another thread... please join us- and invite anyone you think would like to know about Herman Cain (or know about him but would like to talk to him)
I emailed Matt C. Abbott who is a Catholic columnist. His email addy is at Keyes' web site in the sidebar.
That memory returns time and again. I cannot ever look at Easter the same after that one day. But I do from a stronger faith than before.
It is a triumphant day for those of our faith. We must remember that.

THANK YOU!!!!!
HA! That's it! The results are in... I LOVE YOU!!!
Their new slogan is similar to "Don't worry, grandma, Hospice is here."
(grandma, head for the hills!)
....what difference is this than if they put a gun to his head and pulled the trigger????
Murder is Murder!
I hadn't seen it. Those ASSHOLES!!!!(sorry admin moderator, but it's the truth-read the article)
I had no idea about the malicious prosecutions this woman has been through. I didn't know that her mother is, well truthfully, being held hostage. These bastards are breaking every rule in the book and getting away with it. We're dealing with very sick people here. Telling mom that the dog died and upsetting her, is the cherry on the cake.
Does June have a good legal team? I mean lawyers who drink blood for breakfast. I had no idea how bad this was : (
