Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX) "filed a report with the Clerk of the House of Representatives indicating he received free travel valued at $13,998.55 from Fox News Sunday for 'officially connected travel' on October 1-2, 2005, from Sugarland, TX to Washington, D.C. and back to Sugarland, TX. Let's not forget about the FBI files and the highly questionable pardons.

Bingo! And of course, we know that the concerned citizen hitlery ALWAYS pays her way.

Bigtime sarcasm...LOL.

ROTFL. You work with a charter that would charge sixteen thousand dollars for a one way ticket from Texas? Please tell me you are stoned.

Did anyone complain hen Hillary used military and other government resources to fly to NY to campaign back in 2000?

He likely brought a couple of aides.

I checked the Continental website. Last minute, first class airfare from Houston to LaGuardia is $2400 RT. That would be $7200 for three people.

Hotel rooms can run as high as $500/night in New York.

That leaves $5700 for food, limousine and "incidentals."

Maybe FOX had to hire security.

Hell, I don't know. Maybe DeLay had to buy a new suit, some cuff links, a new pair of alligator shoes, get his hair done, his teeth whitened, a manicure, a massage, a microdermabrasion treatment, and an official photograph.

Private flights back and forth...that's close to $10K...putting him up in a lux suite somewhere plus whining/dining adds up. FOX or any other network isn't going to make him take a coach flight, they send corporate jets to get these busy people at their convenience. This is nothing new. An aide or his wife may have accompanied him too so that increases the cost.

I guarantee if Delay went on commie-news-network that they'd have to pick up a similiar tab.

I don't know, by the time you pay air travel, hotel expenses, limousine fees, and for meals, it may not be so excessive.

Well that is pretty serious indeed, he accepted pay for his travel instead of socking it to the taxpayer.. if only he had tried to smuggle official documents away from the public's eyes- by stuffing them in his under-ware.

Not the MSM for sure. Some of those aircraft like the C-5 (which it would take to haul her bu++) cost over $50,000 just to get off the ground.

This media is beyond disgusting. Any guesses for headlines?:

1) "Big, Evil, Corporate Behemoth FOX News Funds DeLay."
2) "DeLay Allegedly Indicted Taking Kickbacks from FoxNews."
3) "FoxNews Bribes DeLay, Resulting in the Slaughter of Cute Innocent Puppydogs."
4) "Filmmaker Michael Moore May Release Accurate Documentary Covering the FoxNews/DeLay Scandal."

Well, I agree with Elil. Just give me 14K up front and I'll make my own arrangements.

could have been a private jet

That sounds about right. If any network wants him to be there, especially when he's under fire, they shouldn't expect him to fly coach with the like of me, who would grill him the entire way.

They sent a jet.

What would be cool, is if he filed this , counting on a "breaking" so others expenses could be brought to light.

It could be that they sent a corporate jet for him and his staff. This could be what they say it is worth, since if it was the Fox jet it wouldn't actually "cost" them. It would be an "in-kind" contribution, but would have to be valued.

There is no indication they actually put money in his pocket, and they are a private company, so who really cares how much it cost them to get him on their show, if they wanted him. I'm sure his appearance earned them a bit more than 13,000 in veiwership.

$14K for a 2 day Texas/ DC round trip? When FoxNews wants to interview me, I'm gonna' ask for the $14K up front & then get my ownself there & back.

Good thing our "elected officals" have more scruples..../sar
