The Florida office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-FL) today called on the School Board of Hillsborough County to reinstate Christian and Jewish holidays recently removed from the 2006/2007 school calendar.
School board members last week voted to eliminate the holidays following a request by the local Muslim community to schedule a day off on the Muslim holiday of Eid Al-Fitr.

What other Christian holidays could have been on the school calendar? Ash Wednesday?
I don't know about Hillsborough County but in Miami-Dade county, we have teacher work days (no kids in class) for Yom Kippur, Rosh Hashannah, Good Friday and Christmas and Easter fall in Winter and Spring break periods.
Tell that to the Israelis blown up by the Suicide Bombers this group funds.
The fact that Muslims kill more Muslims than any other group probably lends some statistical truth to their statement. They are equal opportunity murderers.

Every member of this school board should resign or be fired.
Why? Because they voted to not give a religious holiday to Muslims? From what I've read about this, the county stated that the number of Muslim students in the district was not sufficient to warrant a separate holiday and also, that if they granted the Muslim holiday, they'd have to grant holidays to any other group that asked.

Surely you can't be concerned about Xmas. If you had said Christmas, I might agree with you somewhat. I think the board called the Muslims bluff and won.
