French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said Thursday that the riots in several Paris suburbs over the previous night were "not spontaneous" but rather "well organized."
"What we saw in the department of Seine-Saint-Denis overnight was not spontaneous, it was perfectly organized. We are looking into by whom and how," Sarkozy told French news channel i-tele.
The interior minister also said the government would not allow "troublemakers, a bunch of hoodlums, think they can do whatever they want" in the country.
A force of 1,000 police were assigned late Thursday to Seine-Saint-Denis, following the previous night of violence which affected about half of the 40 towns in the department, mostly communities of immigrants from Africa, officials said.

While the Germans were rearming the French were busy tossing their natural fortune into the Maginot Line.
It's not like they did nothing ~ rather, they did the wrong thing.
I would imagine they are going to do more than arrest a few hundred rioters. People living in tall buildings in those towns with riots probably ought to move out.

Certainly in the long run, but for the next few days they still have a chance to escape being fired on.

The average Frenchman is disarmed and defenseless If the Dems had their way...so would Americans!Makes Florida's new "stand your ground" law look prit-tee schweet, don't it?

it might go a long way toward dispelling the myth of a country scraed to fight for what's right. It's no myth. They will, however, fight for their own interests.
To: sarasota
I'm surprised to hear that the French can "explode". And I am waiting to see just what that looks like.It generally happens only when they have overwhelming military superiority...which, of course, they have on their own soil ;o)

I'm sure all those arabs around the world said "America, you deserve it" after 9/11...They sure did!
The difference is they were wrong, and we are not.

"stand your ground"..."make my day"...whatever you want to call it...don't ever surrender your weapons!

...whatever you want to call it...don't ever surrender your weapons!Surrender? Heck, how long do you think such rioting would last if other residents of the neighborhood had the authority to use deadly force to prevent felonious activity like we have here in Florida!

Radical Islam is the scourge, Divinely permitted, of an apostate, secular, post-Christian west. Like the Assyrians, Egyptians, Babylonians and other war-like races of the Old Testament, Muslims are the instrument of chastisement for a people who, like the Jews of old, have turned their backs on God.
I believe that you are correct.
To: papertyger
I was born and raised in Florida. I don't remember "knowing" any one who was "armed," but I'm sure glad to hear you have "stand your ground" there! I guess you can use that for the hurricanes too!
In Colorado we call it "Make My Day"... which works for me!

There is a common misconception about Islam. This is that there is a small group of radicals and a large group of moderates. This is factually incorrect. There is a small group of radicals, a large mainstream, who fund and support the radicals and a small group of moderates. Another word for these moderates is Infidel, they are more hated by the radicals and mainstream than you and I because their moderate beliefs go against the Koran. The whole of Islam is the problem, not just the radicals. Until the world comes to accept this FACT, the WOT is a joke. Call them religious radicals or don't, it is irrelevant what you call them. Islam as a whole is the problem.

A bit too long ago. Different times, different story.

I'm not familiar with the Legion. What evidence do you have that they are the answer?
To: r9etb
Africa is a totally different venue for shooting rioters. France is too "politically correct" for such actions.
To: surely_you_jest
LOL. That's what I'm afraid of.
