"If I'm the nominee, Republicans will be sorry," said Biden, a Roman Catholic who ran for president in 1988. "The next Republican that tells me I'm not religious I'm going to shove my rosary beads down their throat."
Biden said that in most cases, Democrats have themselves to blame for losing in so-called red states such as Kentucky and Ohio.
"We have put up too many candidates who can't connect with middle-class Americans," he said. "In the last two (presidential elections), the Democratic Party has lost its base, the middle-class votes. ... And we have played into the hands of the Republicans. We've allowed so-called social issues to be so divisive."
State Sen. Julian Carroll, a Frankfort Democrat and former governor, agreed. He said the party has to seek out the voters it is losing to Republican candidates.
"If we define who we are, the middle class will vote Democratic again," Carroll said.

Hillary would never let him be president.
I found the Cardinal the wrote the church's opinion in post 105. Good thing he's just an obscure Cardinal. I wonder if Biden would take him on?
Thanks BE!

>>I found the Cardinal who wrote about denying communion to policitians that support abortion:
On the question of Communion for Catholic politicians, Cardinal Ratzinger outlined a process of pastoral guidance and correction for politicians who consistently promote legal abortion and euthanasia. That process could extend to a warning against taking Communion, and in the case of "obstinate persistence" by the politician, the minister "must refuse to distribute" Communion, he said.

Now I know this only a Cardinal, it's not like he's the Pope or anything...
Right Joe?

I couldn't help but cringe...somebody needs to tell Joe he needs to go to Confession over that one. He's long overdue...maybe about 30 years..and he should apologize to every Catholic in the state.
Dear God I wish Ray Clatworthy had won.
