Is this a preview of what likes in store for lots of Balkanized countries? It is straight out of the book. Because I don't want a future like this in the USA I continue to be appalled by the Democratic Parties dishonest politics of bad faith.
By this I mean the continuous effort not only to dispute Republican policies (which is appropriate) but to create fantasy worlds where high gas prices equal Bush family wealth, the Iraq war is being fought as some sort of personal adventure, the administration is "Bush Co.", blacks are routinely and systematically denied the right to vote, New Orleans was flooded on purpose and the Federal Response was horribly delayed, AND ALL THE OTHER LIES.
Eventually the climate they seek to create (complete Black antipathy to the Republican Party) may well break out of control and lead to results similar to the situation in France.

I have Libs on another board I'm on, who yesterday were denying these were Muslims and/or denying Islam was involved, that this was just a poverty issue.
If it's happening in France, it can easily happen in other countries as well. This could be the start of something really nasty.
And it probably means that we're going to eventually have to bail out Europe. Again.
i think france would be wise to ask germany for manpower to help quell this misunderstanding. now how cool would it be to see germans in official capacity strolling down the champs elysses? what a great time to be alive, lol. if bush offers any help at all to france, in my book, he is lower than jimmy carter, in other words, the lowest of the low.

I sure dont know. Its racially insensitive to say Blacks are rioting, its Religiously insensitive to say Muslims are rioting. What is the underlying cause? Poverty? Tell me why France , a country that has always accused the US of insensitivity to blacks is having a racial problem.

The arrogant French cannot surrender to this war of their own making. Leaders from around Eurasia should take note -- protect your border and culture or be prepared for battle.
Well, now, that all depends on Condolezza and the good 'ol boys network.
Although there is a deep dislike of the French through much of red-state America ( and much of "non-core" Europe), many still cling to the outdated notion that France is an historical and cultural ally, simply in opposition for the time being. This view more or less prevailed in US foreign policy from the Kennedy administration on. By the way, it was not shared by Eisenhower and Dulles who had a little more hands-on experience with the French.
In unpleasant reality, however, after the end of the Miitterand administration, the dirigiste class of France, which is far smaller and more cohesive than non French speakers usually realize, reached a strong consensus of declaring and executing war against America. This goes far beyond the Anti-americanism which the useful media idiots publicize. It goes well beyond the anti-Americanism of the British left, which hopes for and rejoices in American discomfort. This is not the place and time to recount the many practical effects of this French effort; most observers of world events can think of at least a few consequences if they try. This war by France has been limited only by its own weakness and shortcomings. Areas of cooperation, such as in Syria at the moment, are purely tactical. La guerre continue. Those who fail to evaluate France as an enemy, not merely an opponent, will have their pockets picked and their bodies bruised in this unacknowledged war.
I give it 24 more hours. Then Reuters and the AP will morph the terminology "youths.... on a rampage" will become "Insurgents". They already made that convenient MSM conversion in the various Thailand press releases of terrorism. France is next. Get ready to welcome your "Insurgents" Domineque and Jacques.
