The move was prompted by efforts on the part of the Muslim community to include a day off for Eid Al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan.
Students are still permitted to take days off for religious holidays.
The school board decision will be revisited next year and could be amended.
Still, the intersection of religion and public schools was irresistibly tailor-made for O'Reilly, to whom a cell phone is an X-rated sex toy.
Only Faliero had voted against eliminating the days off.
But when O'Reilly's gofers called to inquire whether she'd appear on a show with a man whose idea of courtship is heavy breathing, she declined.
"I told them I had a conflict," Faliero explained. Her daughter had a soccer game Thursday, which was an infinitely better use of her time than showing up on O'Reilly's cheesy mosh pit of right-wing pandering.
As well, it's possible Faliero didn't feel like going through an hourlong delousing after sharing air time with the Baghdad Bob of gasbags.
But Faliero's desire to watch her daughter play soccer, rather than pay homage to Fox News, wasn't good enough for O'Reilly, who took to the airwaves Thursday night and started lying.

Dan needs some hatemail, courtesy of Freepers'r'us.
Oh, and Dan...... I know you'll end up seeing this discussion here on FR.
Your show on saturday mornings sucks.
LOL,
The Tampa Tribune hates O'Reilly's guts; he's labelled them the most corrupt newspaper in the country. You can tell how much they hate him via the vitriol in the story.
Did Ann Coulter write this for Daniel
How about adding a BARF ALERT?
I agree. O'Reilly isn't the best spokesman for conservatives. Someone like Glenn Beck would be a much better mouthpiece in his place.
More life, less politics. How can anybody say no?
Bill's strongest point(IMHO) is that he's *VERY* direct. If someone skirts a question, he throws it in their face. You rarely see that on those other news sources.
Ignore Daniel Ruth.
Everyone in Tampa Bay does, except his editor.
It's about the hillsborough county's banning of all religious holidays, apparently. Something about no christmas, no ramadan, no easter, nothing.
Christmas now = winter solstice or some other such idiocy.
Just because christmas is on the calendar at your local school does not amount to an endorsement by the government. These liberal idiots are afraid of their own shadows.
Right general geographical area--wrong paper.
He thinks the St. Petersburg Times is "scum" because of issues surrounding the Jessica Lunsford case.
He likes the Trib because they pursued the Al Arian matter.
The Trib has historically been a conservative paper, alas that is changing; while the Times has always been liberal fish wrap.
I'm not sure what you guys are missing but O'Reilly is not a conservative or a conservative spokesman.
Mr. O had some people on tonight talking about this....but since I tune him out, I don't know what it was about. Except some woman, maybe on the school board, has been harrassed by this columnist...I think. And the soccer mom in the story supposedly told Mr.O that she had indeed been pressured not to be on his show.
The End
Daniel Ruth fancies himself witty and erudite. He is a tiresome bore and obviously jealous that O'Reilly is more successful than he is.
I agree on the radio show. If I unfortunately hold over after the fishing show, I have to laugh at this guy's inane mutterings on the radio!
Not hatemail, "tough love" mail.
They are so stupid down there; always stepping in it.
That's my newspaper. It is a useless rag. I have a year's subscription that runs out in March. The subscription will not be renewed. I can't stand BORe, but a choice between the Trib and BORe, I'd choose neither.
True, but his self promotion often obscures that. He is hard to watch.
