It's hard to actually see what the story is at first. There's more news in O'Reilly himself, and how evil he is...... and the journalist is more concerned with Bill than the horrendeous acts of the school.
Dan needs some hatemail, courtesy of Freepers'r'us.

Oh, and Dan...... I know you'll end up seeing this discussion here on FR.
Your show on saturday mornings sucks.

I really dislike O'Reilly. However, I never see a statement like
Still, the intersection of religion and public schools was irresistibly tailor-made for O'Reilly, to whom a cell phone is an X-rated sex toy.
made when the character in question is Larry Flynt or equivalent.

Could you tell us what this is about?
The Tampa Tribune hates O'Reilly's guts; he's labelled them the most corrupt newspaper in the country. You can tell how much they hate him via the vitriol in the story.

I agree. O'Reilly isn't the best spokesman for conservatives. Someone like Glenn Beck would be a much better mouthpiece in his place.
More life, less politics. How can anybody say no?
Bill's strongest point(IMHO) is that he's *VERY* direct. If someone skirts a question, he throws it in their face. You rarely see that on those other news sources.

Definite childhood issues with Mr Ruth. As much as that man roots against the home town team for football (because he hates the Glazers, evil capitalists that they are), one can only assume that he was last-picked on the playground for sports teams more than once.

Ignore Daniel Ruth.
Everyone in Tampa Bay does, except his editor.

It's about the hillsborough county's banning of all religious holidays, apparently. Something about no christmas, no ramadan, no easter, nothing.
Christmas now = winter solstice or some other such idiocy.
Just because christmas is on the calendar at your local school does not amount to an endorsement by the government. These liberal idiots are afraid of their own shadows.

Right general geographical area--wrong paper.
He thinks the St. Petersburg Times is "scum" because of issues surrounding the Jessica Lunsford case.
He likes the Trib because they pursued the Al Arian matter.
The Trib has historically been a conservative paper, alas that is changing; while the Times has always been liberal fish wrap.
To: Halfmanhalfamazing
I'm not sure what you guys are missing but O'Reilly is not a conservative or a conservative spokesman.

Mr. O had some people on tonight talking about this....but since I tune him out, I don't know what it was about. Except some woman, maybe on the school board, has been harrassed by this columnist...I think. And the soccer mom in the story supposedly told Mr.O that she had indeed been pressured not to be on his show.

Daniel Ruth fancies himself witty and erudite. He is a tiresome bore and obviously jealous that O'Reilly is more successful than he is.
I agree on the radio show. If I unfortunately hold over after the fishing show, I have to laugh at this guy's inane mutterings on the radio!
To: Halfmanhalfamazing
Not hatemail, "tough love" mail.
To: sinkspur
The Tampa Tribune doesn't really hold a candle to the Washington Post when it comes to corrupt reporting and editorial practices, but we let O'Reilly pretend it's #1.
They are so stupid down there; always stepping in it.

That's my newspaper. It is a useless rag. I have a year's subscription that runs out in March. The subscription will not be renewed. I can't stand BORe, but a choice between the Trib and BORe, I'd choose neither.
