Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.
Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an "Uncle Tom" and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.
Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report -- the only Republican so targeted.(see Schumers Plumbers below)

"How can these people be such hypocrites?" You can ask THAT:
After 8 years of Clinton in the White House?
After both Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Kucinich were acknowledged as legitimate candidates for PRESIDENT?
After the Democrat party has become the ENEMY WITHIN, our founders anticipated?
We're seeing all the failed ignorant leaches, criminals, racists, communists and America hating sonsuvbitches all rolled into a hate organization call the "Democrat Party" and you can still ask how they can be something as mundane as "hypocritical"....
Hell, that's so easy - they're too damned stupid to even NOTICE the hypocrisy

Racial politics today is nothing more than a huge ponzi scheme Democrats are playing on every race. Whites fall for it more than any other ethnicity. The left panders by race and laugh at the right for not playing the game that fools voters.
In 1998 Jesse Jackson was interviewed by Peter Boyles, a talk show host in Denver. Jackson was supporting a white Democrat over a black Republican for Lt. Governor. When specifically asked why he was supporting a white guy over a black guy, Jackson admitted it was because "he's on our team." The candidates political party trumped race.
This is further proved as every black Republican comes under attack by Democrats. The left talks the game of racial equality or racial parity, but they are not interested in anything beyond getting the votes available by playing racial politics. Probably the saddest aspect of this hypocrisy is the black, white or Hispanic voter who believes this nonsense.
Minority Republicans realize how ridiculous it is but there are many voters who believe they will get an advantage due to their race, since they are not as successful otherwise. This is exactly what Democrats want: dependency.

I saw so many Black "civil rights leaders" this week paying tribute to Rosa Parks and her heroic act which acted as a catalyst to the the U.S. civil rights movement of the 60s. But clearly they forgot about the movements leader, MLK, and that little "I Have A Dream" speech of his where he pleads: "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Seems to me today's "Black leaders" only use for MLK is as a street name in the middle of the ghetto and a day off work each Feb. What shameful, carnival barking, transparent hypocrites they are.

The race card, whether directed at so called "racist whites" or so called "uncle tom blacks" is a ploy of desperation. They can't win based on comparison of philosophies, especially since their philosophies have shown to be failures, especially when it comes to black people. Their only option is to resort to the race card, and the mainstream media, being liberal itself, gives them the green light.

Thanks for pinging around,rdb3.
I wish more people could see this, the race baiting is detestable, as well as Chuck Schumer and the DSCC's illegal actions.
Can you imagine if George Allen had two of his staffers illegally obtain Barack Obama's credit report to smear him before the 2004 election?

Maybe these race mongers, in return, should be pelted with Planter's Peanuts.
Appropriate since they are chained to the Democrat plantation, and they are nuts.

AH yes. Another act of teh RACE of tolerance and justice.
These people just reinforce the stereotypes the rest of America has of them. There's a word for them, and to use it here would be justified, but would just as surely get me suspended.

I wanted to give Steele $50 after reading this article to continue to wage the good fight. Unfortunately, the horribly designed MD GOP website didn't offer a direct link to Michael Steele's website. The national GOP website wasn't any better, but it at least has a listing for all state sites.
That's like running a commercial and not stating your company's name! I don't want to pick the link off Google as it's not hard to phish these sites.

Gee, can you imagine the outrage (and rightfully so) from the msm, NAACP, etc., if a Republicans campaign consisted of illegally obtaining black opponents credit reports, calling black dems obedient and oppressed field slaves and throwing shackles and chains at their opponents.

That says it all about the party of bigots. Instead of debating policy differences, they attack his race, challenging that he should be allowed to think a certain way based on his race.

"Uncle Tom" isn't a racial term? Translation to Miller - "Get back to the plantation."

Michelle Malkin's take:
Straight from the headlines, here's exactly the kind of unhinged liberal hatred and bigotry against minority Republicans I talk about in my book-- via the Washington Times today:
(Quoting)
Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.
Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an "Uncle Tom" and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.
Operatives for the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) also obtained a copy of his credit report -- the only Republican candidate so targeted.
But black Democrats say there is nothing wrong with "pointing out the obvious."
(End Quote)
This is how low the Left's political discourse has sunk: I'm a banana and a coconut and a whore and worse. Michael Steele is an Uncle Tom and a Sambo. Assaulting him with Oreo cookies is just a peaceful exercise of free speech. Demonizing Condi is a harmless prank. Calling her a "House Nigga" is acceptable humor.
No minority who embraces liberal ideas is ever attacked for being a "race traitor" or a "sellout." These ad hominem attacks are leveled only by the Left, and only against minority conservatives. For the unhinged Left, race-baiting has become an expedient substitute for substantive argument.
Ain't tolerance grand?
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
WHERE IS THE NAACP ON THIS?
Well, their former president has a position on the matter.
"There is a difference between pointing out the obvious and calling someone names," said a campaign spokesman for Kweisi Mfume, a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate and former president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
