The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Whatever the reason for the strange disappearance of Osama bin Laden, not seen alive since his last mocking video statement a year ago, he is no longer the face of the global "jihad" against the West.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi { TM 25,TM 27 }, the Jordanian responsible for some of the worst atrocities in Iraq, has become the hero of the hour on militant Islamist websites.

He says that China has been caught selling missiles to the terrorists, the kind to shoot down airplanes.

Listening to news commentary today on TV, the discussion was about how drastically America's economy is tied to China. They are also dependent upon us for purchasing their goods. China has a leverage upon us that frightens me. I doubt China will attempt any shenanigans with Taiwan prior to the Olympics in 2008. After that, all bets are off.

They would either have the earned amount deducted from the welfare check or even loose the check completely.

Yep. The welfare state in this country needs to be overhauled or elminated. There must be a better way. The welfare system was created to stop corruption in the 1930s, but the truly needy are only a small portion of today's recipients. I agree with you Granny - 100%.

Computer With Boeing Employee Info Stolen

CHICAGO - A computer that contained Social Security numbers and other personal information for 161,000 current and former Boeing Co. employees was stolen, the company said Friday.

Boeing said it had no evidence that any of the employee information - which included birthdays and banking information in some cases - was accessed or misused. It added that no sensitive company information or supplier or customer data was stored on the computer, which was owned by the company but stolen from a non-Boeing site.

Chicago-based Boeing said it is in the process of notifying affected employees of the security breach and helping them enroll in fraud-alert programs at the nation's three major credit reporting agencies.

The company said it is investigating the theft along with law enforcement authorities.

"We are taking a number of steps to minimize any potential damage that could result from this violation of our security procedures," Rick Stephens, senior vice president of human resources and administration, said in a statement.

Sprague Washington residents under boil water alert

MOSCOW, Nov. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- Russian secret services in Chechnya have killed a senior al Qaeda representative in Chechnya, head of the regional headquarters in control of the anti-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus said on Friday.

The militant, identified as Jaber, was killed in a special operation launched by an army elite reconnaissance unit near the village of Avtury, Shali district, on Nov. 11. He was reportedly al Qaeda's mastermind and financier of recent high-profile terrorist attack in the republic, head of the regional headquarters Col-Gen Arkady Yedelev told Itar-Tass news agency.

Jaber organized terrorist attacks in Znamenskoye and Grozny, and is behind the attack on the village of Roshni-Chu in August, according to the Russian media.

The general said illegal armed group received a large financialblow recently, which is directly linked with the gangs' attempt to unsettle the situation in the republic ahead of the parliamentary election scheduled on Nov. 27.

Jaber has been heading a group of foreign mercenaries since 2001, which smuggled gunmen from Georgia's Pankisi Gorge into Russia. He was also the successor to Abu al Walid, an Arab mercenary who in turn, took over from Khattab.

Isn't it amazing that public schools in our contry are allowed to "educate" about Islam but can't have the slightest tinge of anything about Jesus? Not even Christmas carols, plays, or Nativity scenes? Has the world gone mad or what?

Yes, it has. I believe events like these are what draw many of us to this thread. The very mention of Christ in public schools or prayers prior to a game are grounds for litigation. Unless we vote out these judges and politicians, the worst may very well be ahead.

Bibles taken from school children in Houston

Snip from May 2000 article: School officials were silent Tuesday about a federal lawsuit filed on behalf of three pupils, accusing the Willis school district of refusing to allow children to carry or read the Bible. The lawsuit, filed in Houston, alleges that a teacher at Lynn Lucas Middle School pulled two sisters from class after discovering that they were carrying Bibles and threatened to have them picked up by child-welfare authorities.

Another teacher told a pupil he was not allowed to read the Bible during free reading time and forced him to put it away, the lawsuit alleges. The boy also was required to remove a Ten Commandments book cover from another book, the lawsuit states.
