The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

What's become of bin Laden since he gave us all the slip?
Full Story

Some think he is dead, others that he is hiding because he is scared of being killed.

Whatever the reason for the strange disappearance of Osama bin Laden, not seen alive since his last mocking video statement a year ago, he is no longer the face of the global "jihad" against the West.

Abu Musab al-Zarqawi { TM 25,TM 27 }, the Jordanian responsible for some of the worst atrocities in Iraq, has become the hero of the hour on militant Islamist websites.

"'Nuclear link' to terror suspects"

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Eighteen men were held in Melbourne and Sydney. Some were charged with planning an attack on an unspecified target.

A police document produced in court said three men had been stopped in December 2004 near the country's only nuclear reactor, in southern Sydney.

Their lawyer has said there is no evidence of a planned attack.

The police document named those who were stopped by New South Wales police last year as Mazen Touma, Mohammed Elomar and Abdul Rakib Hasan.

The Lucas Height site is the country's only nuclear reactor
It says they were stopped near the Lucas Heights reactor.

They told officers that they were in the area to ride a trail bicycle, which was in the back of their vehicle, according to the document.

But when questioned separately, it adds, the men gave differing accounts of their activities."

Twice is better than none at all.

No problem and at least you saw it (winking).

SNIP: Police officials in the UK are in a heap of trouble for publishing what's being described as an offensive and sacrilegious illustration in an article about overly sensitive law enforcement, acccording to the BBC. The illustration in the Police Federation magazine shows officers taking their shoes off outside a mosque, as a bearded man escapes clutching bags of explosives.

The cartoon was described by the editor of the magazine as an effort to mock the force's advice that officers remove their shoes before entering Muslim properties, but some officers called it an insensitive stereotypical portrayal of Muslims. The editor apologized.

Ordinary youths turning to terrorism

Snip: Ordinary youths turning to terrorism Monday, Nov 14, 2005 "He [Misno] wasn't especially religious and neither am I. He was a normal kid." Mat Sukarto last saw his son in August when he told him he was leaving Java island to seek construction work elsewhere in Indonesia. The 58-year-old farmer has now had to accept that Misno took a different path and joined the country's growing list of suicide bombers.

"I remember thinking he had no real problems in life. The only thing that was missing was that he was not married," the father said on Saturday. "I feel like I have been beaten up. If only I knew beforehand of his plans, I would have tried to prevent them." His son Misno, who uses a single name, was one of three young militants who blew themselves up at crowded restaurants on the resort island of Bali last month, killing 20 people and wounding more than 100 others.

Canadian firm sacks and suspends Muslim workers

Snip: 11/12/2005 A famous national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group said today that Canada-based electronics manufacturer Celestica Inc. has allegedly fired or suspended 16 more Muslim workers at its Minnesota facility over issues related to workplace religious accommodation, U.S. Newswire reported.

Muslim workers at Celestica's Arden Hill plant tell the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) that nine employees and contract workers have been suspended and seven others have been fired in a dispute over shifting a lunch-break during the recently-concluded Islamic fast of Ramadan. The employees say they were let go for taking an “unauthorized break” at sunset, even though they say they had requested to move their lunch break to that time.

Oh dear.

OPINION: Chavez seems to be unusually paranoid lately. Of course, to be fair and balanced; maybe he is just getting bad press.

US issues terror alert for citizens in southern China

http://www.abc.net.au/ra/news/stories/s1506281.htm

The United States has issued an alert for citizens living in southern China after receiving "credible information" that a terrorist threat may exist against US government facilities in the city of Guangzhou.

A notice on the website of the US consulate in Hong Kong, says the threat "also may exist for places where Americans are known to congregate or visit, including clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools or outdoor recreation events".

The message has been sent via e-mail to registered US citizens in the territory, and advises those in southern China to be aware of their surroundings and remain alert to possible threats.

A spokeswoman for the US consulate, Susan Stevenson, says there no more details about the threat available.

Last Wednesday, Chinese police warned that Islamic extremists could be planning attacks on luxury hotels in China this week, ahead of US President George W. Bush's three-day visit starting November 19.

Similar warnings were posted on the websites of US consulates in several Chinese cities but was quickly withdrawn after Beijing denied the threats.

Thanks for the links, LucyT. I've been training most of the weekend and have not caught the news.

There is already such devastation in Pakistan and relief workers are trying to take care of needs around the clock. The Christian hospital is the only one still operating as all the national ones in the areas were destroyed in the earthquake. Prayers for their protection as well as other Christians in the area.

The Camel's Nose In The Tent.

One cold night, as an Arab sat in his tent, a camel gently thrust his nose under the flap and looked in. "Master," he said, "let me put my nose in your tent. It's cold and stormy out here."

"By all means," said the Arab, "and welcome" as he turned over and went to sleep.

A little later the Arab awoke to find that the camel had not only put his nose in the tent but his head and neck also.

The camel, who had been turning his head from side to side, said, "I will take but little more room if I place my forelegs within the tent. It is difficult standing out here."

"Yes, you may put your forelegs within," said the Arab, moving a little to make room, for the tent was small.

Finally, the camel said, "May I not stand wholly inside? I keep the tent open by standing as I do."

"Yes, yes," said the Arab. "Come wholly inside. Perhaps it will be better for both of us." So the camel crowded in.

The Arab, with difficulty in the crowded quarters, again went to sleep.

When he woke up the next time, he was outside in the cold and the camel had the tent to himself.

I do not like the articles that have Iran and Cuba in the title, makes me think it is too close to the U.S.

...open borders, plus welfare subsidies, plus official recognition of, and deference to, demands made by self-appointed “leaders” of unassimilated ethnic communities. " "Thus we may be seeing a preview of America’s future."

TV talking heads blamed Iraq for the GWB low poll numbers today. The MSM overlooks dissent about our borders, immigration, and other issues consistent with conservatives and legions of people who have concern Homeland Security won't perform any better than FEMA during Katrina.

Welfare recipients (noted above) have nothing to lose and everything to gain by civil disruption (media attention and goods obtained from looting). As in France, political correctness will prevent arrests. The ACLU and CAIR will jump on the bandwagon and say the thugs are victims if it happens here. When the students in Ohio were killed for protesting many years ago, our government tolerated NO dissent. We've digressed completely the other extreme these days - anything and everything goes, sadly no matter what the cost to our country's image or to the law-abiding, taxpaying citizens of our country.

Thanks for the link......

Not a surprise that the terrorists have missiles, there are several suspect airliner crashes, that some thought were hit by missiles.

There is the missiles fired into Jordan at our ships only a
month or so ago.

I am sorry that I did this google.......

Lots on the Jordan missiles, but keep going, I forgot the
