Sixth night of riots in Paris Minister accused of inflaming tensions PARIS, France (AP) -- Violence erupted for a sixth night Tuesday in the troubled suburbs northeast of Paris with police firing rubber bullets and tear gas as they faced down gangs of youths in Aulnay-sous-Bois, according to witnesses. A store set afire in the nearby suburb of Bondy, France-Info radio reported. No trouble was immediately reported in Clichy-sous-Bois, where rioting began last Thursday following the accidental deaths of two teenagers. The latest violence broke out as Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy met in Paris with youths and officials from Clichy-sous-Bois. An Associated Press Television news team reported confrontations between about 20 police and 40 youths in Aulnay-sous-Bois with police firing tear gas and rubber bullets. France-Info said that about 100 fires burning in numerous suburbs of the Seine-Saint-Denis region, an area of soaring unemployment, delinquency and other urban ills. A carpet store in the town of Bondy was set afire, and cars were burning in Bondy and Sevran, France-Info reported. Police said 13 people were jailed following rioting late Monday and early Tuesday in Clichy-sous-Bois and three other suburbs. And to think this started out as an official crack down on the lawlessness in "some" areas of Paris. Two youths get killed by accident and they get a weeks worth of rioting? The parents of the two that died wouldn't even talk to the police IIRC.
And than they send in only 20 cops? Are they asking for trouble?
Not a peep in the US lame stream media about this.
Gee, I wonder why?

Yes, on a post earlier today the neighborhoods were reported to be mostly "Muslim". Violence follows these people wherever they go.
FOX news, in the report I saw today, also did not mention the Muslim connection.
Thank God for FreeRepublic and the truth.
No, the French killed them all off years ago. Those who escaped the fires fled and immigrated to the US.
Coming to a western city near you ...
Let them eat cake.
The French either need to surrender or find the live ammunition. The present status just endangers the police and provides more motivation for the Muslim rioters.
Here is Sarkozy (Hungarian/Greek/Jewish lineage...not French).
That explains his guts.
I wish we wouldn't be so smug about this. This is in our future as well. How it is handled may be different, but I think problem is going to get real very soon.
He is actually Charles Krauthammer. Ever notice you never see either man in the same place?
French PM calls for Calm now:

Let me guess, you never lived through the 1960s, where there were several riots every summer (Newark, Detroit, Watts, DC, Chicago, etc.). This country has a long history of race riots.
See my post #34. America was having violent urban riots long before the French.
The muslims accused him of using "warlike" language.
Sarkozi is the Interior Minister and it is within his purview to take this garbage out to the dumpster. All Europe is watching.
Sarkozi has vowed to deport any cleric that preaches violence.
Sorry Mr. Frog, it is my nature as a NY-reared Scorpion. ;-)
BTW: I am only 29 myself, so I know about the riots from older relatives who were cops during the Newark riots. Nevertheless, we must face the fact that this country has a long history of racial tension and violence, and that France is essentially seeing something similar to what happened in the US on a regular basis from 1964-1969.
Heh heh. I have noticed the resemblance, too. And Krauthammer is a tough cookie. Have you read his bio? MD from Harvard, chief resident in psychiatry at Mass General before he had a mysterious accident which left him paralyzed to some degree. Very determined dude...vy admirable.
