The move illustrates the Democrats' hatred for cutting spending, Santorum said. "They'll go to any extent to try to avoid ... any discussion about shrinking the size of government.

Oooo, I like it. Their 'concern' isn't real. It's all an act.

Thank you, Smoothsailing, for posting this article. It poses a question I would like to answer.

"The American people still want to know - now more than ever - why the United States went to war, whether they were misled, and whether our intelligence was misused.

BECAUSE, you dummies (our politicians and MSM), over 3000 DEAD in NEW YORK.

BECAUSE, Khobar Towers, the USS COLE.

BECAUSE the MUSLIM religion is being used as a tool by the international crime syndicate to take control of all the world's resources, and YOUR CHILDREN ARE ON THE HIT LIST!!!!

Dont' you give a damn about your children????

As Rush has said...the Democrats are imploding!

They are furious about the nomination of Alito AND no indictment on Carl Rove. They want another investigation so they can continue to bash the President until the 2006 elections and keep spouting their lies over and over. Remember, for over a year the ENEMEDIA (AKA MSM)had Rove convicted and serving time...a done deal!

The Dems know the report is coming soon, so they wanted to make a big fuss and accuse a "cover-up" and "conspiracy" because the report is going to rebuke all of their rhetoric of the last 2 years.

They are trying to set the tone for how the report is received. They would like it if the headline following the report release is "Republican Cover-up?"

The GOP really needs to stop get smart and stop playing nice with these clowns. Republicans constantly assume civility, honesty, and good faith from the Democrats, and they keep getting stung by their stunts and dirty tricks.

The GOP needs to roll up their sleeves and fight back. They should be using the power of investigation and prosecution against people like Joe Wilson, Ronnie Earle, and Harry Reid.

I think we're all getting sick of different sets of rules for Republicans and Democrats.

We've never seen a more pathetic bunch of desperate idiots in Congress.

These people would sell their own mothers to get their power back. I pray they never do.

The democRATS are pathetic, and they continue to waller in the muck. We could use a hand from the RINO's as well to drive these slitherly plebes back into the pit........

The RATS saw the same pre-war intelligence the President did and voted FOR going up against Saddam. So their claim that Bush misrepresented the case to them doesn't hold water.

"Stunt" or not, the Republicans caved in. After all, a "Bipartisan" investigation never hurt any one. Has it? (we need to think back to the results garnered from the times this administration has reached out with an olive branch to the Dems). So in the spirit of Bipartisanship lets just have a little investigation to get to the bottom of the "Plame" leak.

My gut feeling is that through dubious means the Democratic operatives have gotten their hands on a juicy little bit of information that the Dems know can't be release unless there is an "official" investigation into the matter. I believe that this "information" will create a large media frenzy that will put the administration on the defensive and in a bad light.

I think the GOP has just taken the bait.

Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) (R), speaks about a rare closed Senate session to protest what Democrats decried as the Republican-led body's inattention to intelligence failures on Iraq and the leak of a CIA operative's identity, as Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) listens on Capitol Hill in Washington November 1, 2005. Invoking a rarely-used rule, Democrats temporarily shut down television cameras in the chamber, cleared galleries of tourists and other onlookers, forced removal of staff members and recording devices and stopped work on legislation. "I hope it does bring the Senate together," said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.).

There are times in the past when I truly believed Ol' Turban Durbin was delusional. Now I'm convinced!!!!!!!
