The Washington Post speaks on the story. O'Doherty claims the e-mail is a fake (he wasn't working there at the time). And the WaPo reporter Matthew Mosk admits he logged on FR as MD4Bush to verify the MD4Bush-NCPAC FReepmails were real. More here:

"O'Doherty claims the e-mail is a fake (he wasn't working there at the time)."

O'Doherty is so busted...if someone wanted to fake that email, they would have used an earlier date (it's as easy to type one as the other).

It's up to the WaPost to publish their anonymous source...dirty tricks negate any guarantee of anonymity.

The WaPost must explain why they trusted their source, too.

Which is to say, the WaPost's complicity in this dirty trick is undeniable.

From the Washington Post article of today:

Post reporter Matthew Mosk received printed copies of the message exchanges last fall, Brenner said. To verify they were authentic, he said, Mosk was given sign-on information needed to view the private chat room by an intermediary acting on behalf of MD4BUSH in late January. Mosk used that information to verify that "the chat room messages were genuine," Brenner said. Mosk presented the printouts to Steffen in February to confirm that they represented his words.

So basically Mosk is admitting that he signed on to FR using Ryan O'Doherty's, Communications Director of the Maryland Democrat Party, account. In other words, he's admitting what JimRob said when he indicated that MD4Bush/Ryan O'Doherty, Communications Director for the Maryland Democrat Party, was colluding with a Washington Post reporter on a story based on allegations by Ryan O'Doherty, Communications Director of the Maryland Democrat Party, brother of Damian O'Doherty, Senior Advisor to Democrat County Executive Jim Smith, that Democrat Mayor of Baltimore Martin O'Malley was "cheating on his wife."

Not that there's any impropriety. No, not much.
