Yes that would put a stop to a lot of this crap, if democrat Senators knew that if they persue it, they'd have to be making statements under oath. This would all come to an abrupt hault, because they know what they've all said, and they know that they've helped it along for years.

Yeah that was a GREAT thing that Lott pointed out with Hannity. This grandstanding bunch of crap by the democrats, to demand that the "phase 2" investigation take place, and it's already been going on for months. This is just another load of democrat crap. And it will cost them. 8) It's obviously deceitful. If it was disguised and believable we'd be worried, but this is all so clearly bias and deceitful, it's great for us. 8)

Good for Roberts. Seeing government and Senate rules abused right in his face IS offensive, he SHOULD be p.o.'d. Good for Roberts!!! 8)

"I don't know, but Reid might just have finished counting the the votes against a filibuster and came up short. If so, he needs a diversion."Ahhhhhh, interresting! THAT is a great point. Picking another fight from a position of weakness knowing they will lose the fight put to them yesterday. Heh heh heh heh heh. This is fun. 8)

I like that. howard dean is the gift that keeps on giving. That's good! 8) And I thought there wouldn't be anyone better than punk mccauliffe for the GOP, and then dean became the dnc chariman. And the good times have been rolling on better than ever, ever since.

Typical liberal grandstanding. Taking something that's already on the books, and announcing it as though you just came up with the idea. It's a common condition with liberals. Like "algore inventing the net", otherwise known as "gorenetinventitis". 8)

That's the only thing I see that would trigger this move now. As screwed up as the Democrats are though- who knows?

Dean is awesome for the GOP. I wish the GOP would have a major national poll asking how many people have left the democrat party because of howard dean and his radical liberal comments and actions the past year. I think it is in the thousands at least. He sure hurt kerry that's for sure, and he's helping Republicans in '06. The more he tries to hurt Republicans, the more he helps it.

I think it's definitely something to keep in mind. It's quite possible that reid has checked with the not-liberal wing of the democrat party, mainly the 11 democrat Senators that are in strong red States that Bush carried last year, and found that few if any of them were willing to vote against Alito. I imagine that the no b.s. version of the conversations was something like this:
Reid: "Democrat Senator from a strong red State", I want you to vote against Alito when he comes to the floor for a vote'
Democrat Senator from a strong red State: Senator Reid, what? Do you even know what State I'm from? Sorry. Not gonna happen. Go talk to specter, chaffe, snowe, or collins.
And since there are 11 of them, that would easily make it impossible for the dems to come close to defeating Alito, which would be embarrassing since the lib dems already threw the gauntlet down against Alito yesterday, the first few hours after the nomination. I think your idea might just be it. I'm going to have to file that in my head and remember that. 8)

Liberals remind me of Darth Vader in "Star Wars," when he thinks he is about to destroy the rebel base planet and then watches the Death Star explode instead.

Yea another Star Wars fan! 8) Heh heh. Good. Great analogy. It is a LOT like that, but the liberals aren't as scary as Vader. Well. Some of them are as scary looking. 8)

I cannot believe that the Senate was closed for 2 hours just to get a little face-time. Two hours to come up with a bipartisan committee that has 2 weeks to report, ON AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION! They admit that the reason for shutting down was already addressed, before they shut down! I'm stunned.
