OK, but what is rule 21?

It is time to fight! These loser liberals are abusing their elected office and destroying our country. They are traitors to America. I for one would contact my Senators but that will avail nothing since Stabenow and Levin have done absolutely nothing except tow the party line.
RULE XXI
SESSION WITH CLOSED DOORS
1. On a motion made and seconded to close the doors of the Senate, on the discussion of any business which may, in the opinion of a Senator, require secrecy, the Presiding Officer shall direct the galleries to be cleared; and during the discussion of such motion the doors shall remain closed.
2. When the Senate meets in closed session, any applicable provisions of rules XXIX and XXXI, including the confidentiality of information shall apply to any information and to the conduct of any debate transacted.
Rule 21 seems to allow Reid to close the doors to the Senate, all cameras and electronic devices off, all non-Senators out of the chamber. Some big deal this is. Reid has eternally destroyed his relationship with Frist, is my guess.

Some of us need to keep our eyes on CSPAN. The dems just went over the edge and brought our senators together without knowing it. Now they must show backbone... it's as good a time as any.

If you've ever tried to get a two year old to go somewhere they don't want to, that's the equivalent of Reid using Rule 21 on his parents, the GOP.
The Demorats may invoke rule 21 everyday - per c-span.

I just don't understand what they could gain by doing this. Unless there is something that the Dems don't want us to hear, but that just couldn't be.
