Exactly. President Bush is not running for reelection. Dick Cheney is not running for President. Cheap political stunts will not faze them. They have "moved on" to coin a phrase and are about the business of helping Iraq prepare for its historic December elections -- elections which, by the way, will take place while the Congress is adjourned and the Democrats have no mouthpieces in Washington. Bush and Cheney know this is just six weeks away. And once it occurs, and a real deomcratic government is in place in Iraq, all carping about prewar intelligence is going to look really, really stupid.

Keep your eyes on the prize.

The country isn't ignoring the substance of their message though. The Republicans need to own the message if they are going to sustain the will and they don't right now.
