I appreciate that dynamic, but that's our problem. Republicans fear the MSM press and that's why we seem weak. We (many Republicans) want people who are the spokespeople for the Democratic party to say something nice about us. It's not going to happen. We become captured by the need for our opponent's favor. That's why I want to see a new breed of Republicans. Republicans that give up on the MSM, but move toward those that really support them, not the NY TImes. We're always presented in a bad light. That's not new and will not change only get worse.

Of course it scored. The headline on Yahoo news....

"Democrats close Senate doors in Iraq protest"

Democrats forced the Senate into a rare closed session on Tuesday to protest what they decried as the Republican-led body's inattention to intelligence failures on Iraq and the leak of a CIA operative's identity.

Get it yet? This was a huge win. "inattention to intelligence failures?" Dems "forced" the Senate. "leak of CIA operative."

During the Iraq War march on Baghdad, the live thread went over 5000 every day.

Boy, do I remember that. I slept on the couch most of the time to be near the computer.

I'd like to see the Pubs so ticked they moved past mad to cool, calculated determination. And stick to it. That's what I'd love to see.

OK maybe it will have legs (but I'm not expecting it).

Matthews on MSNBC said that he agreed with Anrea Mitchell and the whole thing is about crocodile tears...

I think I'll go work out and drop this whole thing.

I thought they would be out whining about the Pres's speech this morning asking for billions for the upcoming pandemic.

Pres Bush has seized the agenda.

They were getting killed in the media, and they needed to change the subject.

Pretty amazing when you know that the majority of the media is backing them up as best they can't.

Senator Durbin demands that one chosses an "issue" for web based e-mail. The best topic choice was Children Issues.

Dear Senator Durbin:

Yes, “children issues” or more accurately stated: child-like behavior.

Aside from outrageous rhetoric which compared our Armed Forces with that of Nazis; today's unannounced, and unconstitutional closed door Senate stunt, bordered upon a new low.

So, I called your Washington office at 4:15 p.m. today, and asked for an explanation. But I was interrupted by your staffer. When your staffer finished his little temper tantrum, I requested to speak with a supervisor. But your staffer hung up on me.

Senator, I can respect our differences in opinion. But I must ask. If you condone this sort of behavior in Washington, is this an example of how Illinois interests are represented in Washington?

I do look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,
OLA

Yah. One news cycle for the Dems, vs. two Supreme Court justices, one non-indicted Presidential adviser, elections coming in Iraq, gas prices falling, and DeLay getting a new judge. I guess you just have to take your tiny victories wherever you can! LOLOLOLOL

No, it didn't score. And why? BECAUSE NO ONE IS WATCHING BUT US!! Hell, if my boat didn't need work, I would be fishing instead of watching this crap. Most people just dont give a crap about this, and they wont until October of next year.
