Both parties have their share of criminals. And the common man is the every day working person, that was not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. The ones that work every day and are bearly keeping ther heads above water. The ones that the goverment do not feel that they should make at least $6.35 on hour and they should be able to live on and support a family on $5.15 an hour when our gas prices are well over $2.50 a gal. The small business man, the small family farms, these are the people that built this country and made the Bush's and Clinton"s of this country their wealth. The men and wemen In Iraq fighting and loosing their lifes and there familys back have to live on food stamps to feed them selves. Men and wemen dieing for what? Not wepons of mass destruction, they are no closer to Bin Ladon they they were at 9/11. This country is back in billions of dollars in the red again. People are loosing their jobs right and left, so where is the good?

"What would you say to this person?"

Well, the first thing I would say: Is this YOUR opinion, and your faith is wavering and you want to feel the waters and be self-assured?

Or it was truly someone else who said this? One of your aquaintances that has you befuddled? What and who was the context? That will help for a start. You have been posting since 2001, and YOU haven't gained any literary ammo?

It's not hard to get a good job

I am retired but I could get a job today if I wanted one. I don't know how good it would be but it wouldn't matter a lot if I needed a job, any pay being better than none.

Suggestion for starting point...

"If I can demonstrate that one of your premises are flat out wrong, would you reconsider your opinion or are you stuck on your conclusions ?"

Yes, truly atrocious spelling, coupled with grade school level arguements. There is your answer: a juvenile troll (I presume).

Yes they emailed me gloating about the Bush house of cards falling down because of the Libby thing. Now they are whining about this crap.

Both parties have their share of criminals.

Granted.

And the common man is the every day working person, that was not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. The ones that work every day and are bearly keeping ther heads above water.

True enough. And, like criminals, both parties have their share of these "common men". Of course, conservatives would let them keep more of their hard-earned money, while liberals would allow the government to confiscate it.

The ones that the goverment do not feel that they should make at least $6.35 on hour and they should be able to live on and support a family on $5.15 an hour when our gas prices are well over $2.50 a gal.

People make choices in life, and they must live with them. The vast majority of people can better their lot with a little hard work.

The small business man, the small family farms, these are the people that built this country and made the Bush's and Clinton"s of this country their wealth.

No comment here

The men and wemen In Iraq fighting and loosing their lifes and there familys back have to live on food stamps to feed them selves.

Agreed - we should increase military pay so that no families of soldiers require food stamps to live.

Men and wemen dieing for what? Not wepons of mass destruction, they are no closer to Bin Ladon they they were at 9/11.

When's the last time you saw Bin Laden on tape? By my recollection, it was over a year ago. You remember - when he taped his campaign speech for John Kerry.

This country is back in billions of dollars in the red again.

Can't argue with that one, but you might ask your friend how this deficit has impacted him/her personally.

People are loosing their jobs right and left, so where is the good?

They are? Last I checked the unemployment rate was still pretty darn low.

Tell the liberal that you just give up, we will do as he wishes, for the common good: we will give the government total responsibility over our lives, and the power that such a thing requires, then everything will be perfect, everyone will have plenty, everyone will be equal.

The result will be that the entire country be strickent with poverty, that Islamic terrorists may have the upper hand, that our freedom be lost, that our government be totalitarian, but at least everything will be "fair and equal," these things guaranteed and defined by the discretion of our beloved rulers.

Never mind that a goodly portion of the so called "common men" vote Republican, never mind that the very wealthiest today are all socialists, never mind our traditions of individual freedom, equality can not be served without "liberals" deciding for everyone what is in their best interests.

Hell, never mind that equality, except equality before the law, must be forced, and thus destroys freedom. Which is exactly why it is not an American tradition

Okay, the first thing to do is give my your address; I'll mail some "Thomas the Tank Engine" books along so that they can get up to speed with 2nd grade literacy. If there are any girls, I'll send along some "American Girl" books.

"What do you say to liberals"?

In a nutshell:

Some people make better life choices and decisions than others, and that whining, blaming and envy is childish and non-productive.

What to say about "Welfare and Income Redistribution"?

"If you want what I have, come here personally and TRY to take it away from me..do not hire your government to rob me, you coward."

And on War:

The enemy wants to kill you and your family, are you prepared to fight or do you prefer to leave that task to America's Finest?

My husband & I grew up very poor. My husband lived in the projects for a short while. His father, who only had a 3rd grade education, worked 3 jobs & saved money. Then he took the money he saved & went back to school. He retired as the USDA compliance officer for the midwest. He told my husband he had to make it on his own too, so he would appreciate it. He joined the Navy, went to school when he could. When he got out he used the GI bill to get his degree. When his grandmother died he inherited $6000. He used that (& money saved) to get his masters. Try hard work to get out of that situation. We know lots of people who started with nothing & worked hard & made a good life for themselves. By the way, my husband is a GS-15 at STATCOM & hopefully will get a promotion to SES shortly.
He continues to go to school when its available. He is finishing his 2nd to last class at the War College in Dc.

What would you say to this person? Pulling for more welfare and against the war.

Based on this, I'm not sure I understand why this person is liberal. Care to expand?
