Fourth night of riots in Paris (BOBIGNY, France)

Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy on Monday defended his tough crime policies against claims they helped increase tension after a fourth night of rioting in a Paris suburb in which tear gas was fired into a mosque. It was not clear who had fired the tear gas and Sarkozy, addressing police officers, vowed to find out what had happened. Youths hurled rocks and set fire to cars in the northeastern Clichy-sous-Bois suburb of the French capital, where many immigrants and poor families live in high-rise housing estates notorious for youth violence. French television said six police officers were hurt ---SNIP---

They are in shock in a "Oh my G-D what have we done?".. sense of way.

They should have learned from the time before the Crusades. Islamic leopards don't change their spots. France has a rough road ahead.

The only concern I have is that we will soon see a technologically advanced Muslim enemy.

Take heart in the fact that they won't be able to maintain it.

I've been trying to locate this article since I read it last year. There is much more to be said for the impact of the Muslim presence on the French psyche.

Ten years ago there were graffiti in Arabic spray-painted on walls and courtyard fences in the neighborhood around Mitterand's private apartment where his wife and daughter lived. My friend had arranged to have the wall around her building coated with a substance that repelled spray paint. Her windows were broken in the night for her trouble, over and over again.

In the eighties the French intellectuals and entertainers (difficult to know which is which) mugged their way across tv screens or looked sternly from huge billboards chiding French citizens to "Dites non a rascisme." Say no to racism.

The billboards could be seen only by the workers going to their jobs at the Renault works and other factories that ringed Paris, and again when they returned home to the "projects" in the "zones" which increasingly were flooded with North African non-workers, their many wives and children, and the "cultural diversity" of all-night music, of men gathered around fires in rusted oil-drums on the sidewalks, of thievery, and of constant menace, which the "Nouvelles Citoyens" inflicted on the weary French workers.

No attempt was made to insist on cultural assimilation as that would imply that the Muslim North Africans were inferior, and it would have horrified the elites who lived in the leafy suburbs and white/white neighborhoods like the Ile St. Louis and were made sleepless at night only by the smug chattering of their guests, graduates of the grandes ecoles and thus, annointed to adumbrate the destinies of the lower orders in the French hierarchy.

But now the Muslims come from the former Soviet satellites and the Muslims from North Africa, emboldened by a police force weakened by political correctness, look out at the leafy suburbs and the chic city blocks, with the eyes of the possessor. But the unease has always been there, even among the most ardent, guilt-ridden multi-culturalists.

I asked a few teenagers, school-mates of my friend's son, "What will you do when your guests decide that it is your houses, your schools, your culture, they wish to own? Where will you go then, to the "zones?"

"That is so typically American," they said. "Americans are all racists. We French are more civilized."

"Yes, but it is a civilization despised by your guests. Liberty, equality, brotherhood are meaningless to them. There are eight million of them here now, and their birthrate surpasses that of Europeans. How does 'say no to racism' affect the outcome for you."

That was twenty years ago. I use the 8 million figure, because it was generally accepted then that that was the approximate number, though now the official figure is 5 million.

Jean Raspail used immigrants from the Ganges in his book "Camp of the Saints" because even in the seventies it was politically incorrect to appear to slight Muslims. Of course, he was trashed as a racist, anyway.

Thanks so much for posting this article. I am making copies to insert in the pages of the copies of "Camp of the Saints" I plan to send out at Christmas. A holy day approaching extinction.

It gets even WORSE.

Someone (who is more mathematically inclined than I) should calculate the effect of shorter generational reproduction times.

E.g., a muslim generation of making babies every 17 years versus the average French couple that might wait to make its babies every 30th year.

In other words, they're making MORE babies, and they're making them MORE OFTEN, quicker, SOONER.

Just my $0.02.

From post #70:

You discover that 1 out of every 3 babies born in France today is a Muslim baby. And that means, in 20 years, one of every three 20-year-olds in France will be a Muslim twenty-year-old. And that means, twenty years after that, at present rates of reproduction, France will have a majority Muslim population.

The only thing that matters, full stop. All the crapola about citizenship tests and assimilation, about welfare and farm policies and free trade, won't mean a thing. We are witnessing the end of Western civilization and conservatism doesn't have a thing to say, except to cheerlead for it.

Mr.Natural, great post

SirChas check out #70

While it appears France may have another 20 years or so prior to being a Muslim dominated nation, the US clock is ticking also. Perhaps in the year 2025 the French will have an election that tosses out the current system in favor of the Islamic law. The US and the world will feign shock at the loss of a once great and mighty country and friend while the "New French" will promise compassion and respect for the "Old French".

A proper demographic analysis would do just that.

Remember, it's illegal in France for their census officials to ask the questions needed in order to get the data needed to do the analysis.

In other words, THE FRENCH DON'T WANT TO KNOW.

The French have a fatal case of PC.

Your post #70. As quoted from the article.

Imagine that you are a cosseted member of the French elite.

Yes, one can imagine a party of fat burghers who have retreated to their elite residence areas. They, of course,if they read Douce France in French, would have a field day in discussing it. Strong French accents ( hate to hear it), all calling Fitz a racist. Snorting indignantly all together- high on wine- ridiculous, of course. Vive la France etc.

Then they crawl to their beds, crying and beating the pillows, til' the feathers come out. A stream of racist invective pours forth. Ah, for the guillotine.

all this reminds me of that line from Dances with Wolves - when Kevin Costner's character wants to go to the frontier and his superior officer asks why, and he says he wants to see it before it's gone. Maybe in 50 years time - 2 generations from now (well 3 for some cultures) - we'll look back and wonder what 'France' and 'Europe' were like.

I don't think the US demographics are much different, except that Mexicans are more like Americans than Arabs are like Frenchmen. Mexicans and other Latins are mostly part of the overall society here - become American - in a generation or so - whereas in France and other Euro countries it seems that most Muslims want to remain firmly, permanently apart.

Mexicans are part of Western Civilisation (AKA Christendom), which they received from Spain ... United States of Americans are part of Western Civilisation, which we received primarily from England and France. We're cultural brothers.

Moslems are enemies of Western Civilisation. Their culture has been at war with ours since it began.

Interesting. Where have you find those statistics?
Is it differrent in the others countries? like england, The states?

It's true that the muslims represent nearly 10% of our poblation. But I don't see why they should continue to have a strong demography.

It's true that in Kosovo, the muslim demography had dramatic consequencies...

You might check this thread:

The post linked above shows a relatively simple way to do the math for basic demographics. The core underlying assumption is that the current birth rate for Mulsims and non-Muslims will stay the same. Since the Muslim population in France has successfully resisted assimilation, and is likely to continue to do so, this seems to be a reasonable assumption.

The analysis does NOT include the effects of immigration, differences in the AGE at which a woman bears children, or further extrapolation of the downward trend in the non-Muslim French birth rate. If these factors had been included the situation in France would look even worse.

I assume you are French, and that you are seeking the truth. Sadly, the truth is that even the simplified mathematical analysis linked above shows France is very close to the point of no return, and may have already passed it.

BTW: Since you have decided to join FreeRepublic, I HOPE you are a friend of the United States. Americans would like to be your friends, but your leaders have done everything they can to destroy that friendship. Many Americans, like me, consider your current government to be an active enemy of the United States. The friendship we felt for France even a few short years ago is gone.
