He lost one race, to an extremely popular, widely acclaimed Democrat...in a high-turnout presidential election year.
He still would have been 10x the senator that that embarrassment Martinez is.
McCollum and Martinez had an identical (geographic) base.

Better than Voinovich, I'll bet.......

Ditto! I'm thinking about writing some Rino senators anyway. They don't have to know I reside In LA la land.

Dear Senator Voinovich:
President Bush kept the promise Ohio people demanded when I canvassed Cuyahoga County in support of the Republican ticket last fall. Following my hard work, I will not tolerate lunatic left-wing attempts to disrupt the Senate Judicial confirmation voting process. Because Justice Samuel Alito has the sort of judicial record which I'm ready to fight for. Needless to say, any filibuster attempt is unacceptable.
I'm eager to hear of your firm commitment for Justice Alito's confirmation process.
Sincerely,
OLA

Good email.
I have to still email Voinovich. I haven't yet because he doesn't reply, well among other reasons.

DeWine is already committed.

Super letter! I'm planning to write to thank DeWine.
When they do the right thing, I think we should let them know.

Dang.
:(
It was the caption "(George Voinivich-RINO)" superimposed over the image of a sobbing infant.

Dear Senator DeWine:
It pleases me to learn of your firm commitment for Justice Samuel Alito's confirmation hearing. Because President Bush kept the promise Ohio people demanded when I canvassed Cuyahoga County in support of the Republican ticket last fall. And based upon your Hugh Hewitt show appearance tonight, it appears you will too.
I pray that you will not dissuaded by the lunatic left-wing attempts to disrupt the Senate Judicial confirmation voting process. Because Justice Alito has the sort of judicial record which I'm ready to fight for. Needless to say, any filibuster attempt is unacceptable, and must cease and desist.
And allow me to personally thank you for your service to the people of Ohio.
Sincerely,
OLA

In our letters and e-mail, be sure to remind the senators that Judge Alito was confirmed to the bench UNANIMOUSLY and that elections have consequences --- POTUS ran on the promise to appoint to SCOTUS, justices like Thomas and Scalia.
onyx, do you have a link to that info? Would that be the 1990 hearings?
I'm sorry, but I seem to be a little search-impaired today! Thanks!
