Oops, on further review, I stand corrected. The previous report is a Byron York report from 6/2/03, but this statement came out 10/25/05 from York:

There is major news in the fight over the report of independent counsel David Barrett's investigation into the Henry Cisneros matter. Late today, 10/25/05 the three-judge panel overseeing Barrett ordered that parts of his report be released to the public -- and that all of the report be given to Congress.

"The Court orders that the independent counsel, with all deliberate speed, prepare for release and make release of the now pending Final Report, except for that portion designated as Section V," the order says. It is not clear what is contained in Section V, but it is known that several Clinton-era figures have sought to prevent the Barrett report from being released, and perhaps the material in Section V relates to that. In any event, the Court further ordered Barrett to prepare a version of the report containing the publicly-withheld sections and deliver it to the leaders of Congress and the chairmen and ranking members of several committees.

But there is a catch -- the judges stipulated that their order be stayed for at least ten days in the event that any figures involved in the matter should petition the Supreme Court for a stay. "If no such stay is sought within the period granted by this paragraph, then this stay shall be lifted," the order says. One unspoken aspect of that provision is that whoever has been blocking the report's release in private -- under seal -- would, if a petition is made to the Supreme Court, have to do so publicly.

"I am extremely pleased with the decision of the court," Barrett told National Review today. "The Congress and the public have a right to know the contents of the entire report, and this is a step in that direction."

SANDY BERGER Clinton's NSA for 8 years and Kerry's national security adviser stole classified 9/11 documents and he got almost zero attention. I've seen the media is even trying to help him make a comeback. What a double standard.

"This being the one that Kerry and Kennedy want to keep under wraps."

Im wondering the same thing. When the Republicans decide to grow a pair and stand and fight they may want to bring it out while they bring it on. This Cisneros story can hurt the Libs.

Clinton also pardoned Marc Rich, who we have learned benefitted financially from the Oil for Food scams.

right . but it could have been a lot worse. libby has a fighting chance against these charges. rove is probably in the clear and chenny is untouched. they were out to destroy not indict. they overreached and fitz new it. they will try again but this time the WH will be ready. it's time for a NEW new tone. forget about harmony its time for sweet dissonance.

It's not just about the pardon. Everything about Cisneros matches Libby.

What I like about it is the following:
1. Cisneros has nothing to do with Starr.
2. Cisneros doesn't touch Clinton's scandals or anything the Dummies dispute.
3. The crime was committed during the process of investigating another crime (i.e. the coverup).
4. I think Libby would jump at the deal offered Cisneros. Certainly republicans would prefer it.

Actually, felonous conduct seems natural too. Geez, we just saw a former National Security Adviser steal and shred documents pertinent to an ongoing Senate investigation that were also linked to one of the members on the panel - not much of a clamor from the media on that one!

And not one day in prison! A promise never to do it again and in three years he can have his Top Secret Code Word clearance back. I think Libby is home free if accorded the same justice for the severity of the crime.

Cisneros, a rat, had a much easier go of it since I'm sure his judge was a neoMarxist like most of them tend to be. Libby won't get off nearly as easy...I'm sure he'll end up in jail over this, at least the rats will try.

Not only made a comeback with his rat cohorts...but he's now working for Hitlery in her campaign.

Even yawn kerry had the "sense" to fire Burglar during HIS campaign!

Burglar must have major poop on his fellow rats that they can't simply let him fade away. Bizarre.

The Libs have not ONE thing to say about Libby's indictment and I for one hope he puts up a spirited fight at the trial. Please try to get Wilson on the stand under oath!!!

Doesn't a judge have to then agree, after a plea deal has been reached? If he was charged with only a misdemeanor in the end..doesn't that involve a judge?

yes, but it would be rare to deny it.

They seem to acknowledge that some crimes that are borne of politics shouldn't press people into prison.

In Cisneros case, for example, he lied about a background check and then got a special prosecutor with unlimited funds and power. That is something that doesn't happen to any other than public servants (like Libby). Prosecutors and judges understand this and they also understand the absolute cleanliness requirement of Government.

So The People go the investigation into the Plame affair that was needed. But now it's time to let Libby get on with his life and understand that this is politics.

Plead guilty to msidemeanor. Pay fine. Stay out of jail. Get pardon.
