They seem to acknowledge that some crimes that are borne of politics shouldn't press people into prison.

In Cisneros case, for example, he lied about a background check and then got a special prosecutor with unlimited funds and power. That is something that doesn't happen to any other than public servants (like Libby). Prosecutors and judges understand this and they also understand the absolute cleanliness requirement of Government.

So The People go the investigation into the Plame affair that was needed. But now it's time to let Libby get on with his life and understand that this is politics.

Plead guilty to msidemeanor. Pay fine. Stay out of jail. Get pardon.

Right...Libby is not going to come out of this clean, until he's pardoned. Meanwhile, I agree..he has to cop a plea and hope the judge will go along with it. My point being that what with the judges in DC now, plus the climate of libnut-ism, Libby might not be able to cop an easy plea such as the one that rat Cisneros got.
