Indicted on 18 felony counts similiar to Libby's. In a plea agreement, he plead guilty to lying to FBI (misdemeanor), fined $10,000.
Later he was pardoned by Clinton.
Hmmmm
Right...Libby is not going to come out of this clean, until he's pardoned. Meanwhile, I agree..he has to cop a plea and hope the judge will go along with it. My point being that what with the judges in DC now, plus the climate of libnut-ism, Libby might not be able to cop an easy plea such as the one that rat Cisneros got.
I would love a lib judge to block a plea. We could run on that. Point out all the Democrat pleas that got through without challenge. Point out that the prosecutor they all heralded is for it. We could easliy paint all the lib activist judges as mean spirited and vindictive while at the same time point to all the previous Democrat criminals. Activist judges help us.
I would love the 2006 mid-term election to be defined by an activist judge. We win. Hands down. And Libby would still get off.
Re: #12
THAT is the REAL "Climate of Corruption".
And if we don't want to see it again in three years (excluding the dead ones), our side must get its act together.
Right...let the country see how much more petty (if it's humanly possible) the libnuts are! To see some dipwad libnut judge inventing new laws from the bench, it would be priceless and get people fired up. And yes..Libby would still beat it all.
well, if this is the case, why couldn't Dubya pardon Libby?
I think he will but it usually happens at the end of the term or after a conviction.
If he pardons Libby before a trial or plea deal, it will look like a coverup.
